BAP/Staking sub-Forum

It has been suggested a few times, but I think it is time to put in an "official" request for a unique Forum, so that Members can put out offers, of one form or another, and they will not get lost in the shuffle.

Currently these offers are popping up in several locations, and members are occasionally missing the boat, so to speak. I would suggest making it a sub-forum to the Buy & Sell Forum, as that would seem the most appropriate label to go with.

  • I would think that you would need to apply to have access to create threads in there in order to protect newer members. Established members can already fend for themselves.

I would volunteer to be a moderator of the forum but would like at least one other to help out.

I think it should just be it's own forum. If it has to be a subforum then it should be under general poker chat not under the same forum where people are selling their old lawnmowers.
  • good ideas, and I will volunteer to be Hobbes' flunky on this one . . . though I would need to learn how to check someone for their OPR, and other stuff that I really know nothing about.

I agree, but when has anybody posted an ad for their old lawnmower?

Since I rarely participate in buying/selling action, I'll offer to help Hobbes with mod duties.
  • I would think there are two options for creating a spot:

1 - it gets its own spot, like the CAPL did. Done, everyone happy.

2 - it gets two spots in other main categories: Online Poker Talk and B&M Poker Game talk. This way, people who want to sell action for the Sunday Million take it to the Online section, while those wanting to sell off pieces for the WSOP ME go to the B&M section.

If you decide on option 1, I would suggest making two subsections, one for online and one for live, just to keep things neat and tidy. :)
  • now if I could just figure out how to structure staking for a live cash session :)

I think 1 with subsections would be best
  • 1 section is suffice IMO. No need to separate it into Live/Online

People can invest/BAP at their own risk - OP is responsible for posting graphs/references.
  • Yrs, one section for both live and on-line. Also think that putting it in "General" is a good idea. Offer to assist still stands.
  • How much modding is really needed though? Unless a person is looking for escrow.
  • Hey Wes, just trying to help. Hobbes has volunteered, and asked for a minion to boss around. Johnnie and I have said sure . . . if we're not needed, we go back to lounging around the site. No worries.

I was being a devil's advocate and partly looking for input on what the need/want is for the section - was just throwing it out there as in how much screening does people want. As in do they want mods to hold escrows, screen all players buying/selling, or just let it be self-govered.
  • I would like some sort of screening.
Although we generally know each other, it may deter some that we don't want around (Fed?)

On the staking sites I belong to (for example)
you cannot BAP action if your accounts are < 6mo old.
you must enter your PS/FTP accounts in your profile.

Is that buy or give action or both?
  • Sell action. They are always free to buy.

  • Bumping for Reconsideration!!

Scoops...Your people are chanting! You don't want a revolution do you?
  • Gawd, I hope not, if only for Jeff and Wes's sake. Flunkies of the old regime are usually the first against the wall when the Revolution comes . . . lolz

Last edited by Milo; Today at 08:35 AM. Reason: maybe he's looking to sell to the Ace ten bumbler?
Jeesh, if he does that I'm out... And would I look nice against a wall?
  • I need to start getting in on these. Two of the players at final table with Darryll were out of the few names I predicted to do good in PPC for preview. If I had known when I wrote it Darryll would be going would be like 3/4. Made my 5 Wsop picks last month for may issue, 2 are now on Team Canada for World Team Poker and the other is Aprils cover, and the other just shipped Venetian Deepstack again.

4/5 there in offbeat way already, the 5th is Timex so I like the chances there.

Hopefully sending good vibes at least.

Who were the 2? There only appeared to be 2 competent players at the final table so I hope it was them. Both mid 20ish local guys. If you said their names Id remember.
  • Pretty sure one of the guys names was Clayton. Forget the other guys name.

    The rest were clowns.
