Live MTT short stack push or fold?

Right. Need a confidence booster or a flame.

SCENARIO:
Blinds = 600/1200
HERO = C/O w/ 7400 chips.
Villian = High jack with over 8000 chips

Notes on villian: old timer likes to play for luck. Recently saw him min raise from early position with 4 baby stacks behind him (1-4 bbs each). He got called and showed 22.

Folded to villian, villian MIN RAISES to 2400

Hero = Ah9c
Hero ???

  • what does hi jack mean? if you think he may fold to a shove sometimes, and he may play hands that aren't paired and don't have an ace. if hes capable of those then i don't care what he has im all in. im prob all in either way.

    CO -1 or button -2
  • Shove. Unless I've seen him do this with a big hand or big Ace, I'm not in that bad of shape.

    right on thx
  • Time to get it in. He might fold and you win. He might have worse and call, he might have better and you get ahead. With less than 10BB you need to gamble a little and this is a great spot to do it with money already in the pot....I'm a donkey still so my opinion doesn't mean much yet.
  • How many players are left in the tourney, what's the payout structure, etc? Need to know these.

    Without that, based on the small read you have as well as how short you are, I'm probably shipping here
  • thanks for the tips.

    So yeah at this stage its the final 2 tables, 8 get paid, 16 players left.
