cardroom question

First off, allow me to offer this warm hello to all of my fellow Canadian poker enthusiasts! Recently I had found this forum, but it was down, and, I assumed, out. I'm very glad to learn the downtime was temporary.

I have a question for any west coast members; what is the current status of the Vancouver cardroom scene? Are places like the Apollo and Joker's still up and running? Without any info I am sort of assuming there's been a crackdown; I certainly hope that's not the case. Are the Vancouver/area casinos getting generally favourable reviews re action?

Any feedback is appreciated. Sorry, I've been out of commission for a while.

The Jokers and Apollo Rec were never exactly legal, but they were tolerated. I suppose I'll have to wait until spring to know the truth. I have a feeling they're both still open. I fully intend to check out the casino action when I get back to the coast. I hear RiverRock lays out a free spread of victuals every day sometime after midnight. Those are the little perks that make a big difference, I'll say. Never too impressed with GCC, hopefully they'll redeem their selves by opening cardrooms in Victoria and Nanaimo. Nanaimo has a good private cardroom, come to think of it. And RiverRock has a marina, apparently. Perhaps they'll comp me a slip for the old rust-bucket. What's the dress code there? ;)
