Could i have prevented this.

Me UTG: 4c 4d (I call)

Two middle position limpers

SB completes
BB checks.

FLOP: (7s 4h Kd)

checked to me, i check (figure i'll get someone with a K to bet)
First limper bets, second limper calls.
SB & BB fold
I call.

TURN: 3d

I check, First Limper bets, Second Limper raises.

The raise worries me, i re-raise.

First limper calls, second limper caps.

I now actually think i'm dead (he must have the straight)

River: 6s

I check, first limper checks, second limper bets we both call.

He shows: 5c 6h for the straight.


I'm likely just asking for support that i played the hand properly, but if anyone can give me a better way to have played this hand, even if i still lose.

first off i dont think you could have prevented the limper from catching his straight. once he decides to play the hand (assuming low limit) i dont think you couldve pushed him out with either a raise preflop or postflop.

that said, i think i like folding after the first limper calls 2 raises and the second caps

but im no expert

Don't slowplay small sets.. I favour a check-raise on the flop.

I'm feeling like a fanboy right now but don't play small pairs UTG and play trips fast in low limit. Was it low limit?
