Keeping Notes/Stats

Hi, I was wondering how I would be able to keep notes/stats during a live game. I've read in a poker book (cant recall the title) that some players will use everything from note pads to PDA's to laptops to keep stats/notes. With the pending opening of the poker rooms in Niagara Falls I plan to spend the majority of my poker time at real tables and keeping good notes and stats is really important. Any suggestions/ ideas on what would be the best way to do this without drawing too much attention from other players.

cheers

  • Most Casinos will not allow any electronice devices at the table including PDAs, laptops, cell phones etc. Not sure the book you were reading but taking notes and keeping a journal is a great idea but certainly not at the table. If you are not in the hand you should still study the players and how they play rather than be absorbed in what happened in the past and feverishly writing notes while missing the game. Write your notes after your session or away from the table. Just my 2¢ for what it's worth.
  • I agree with pokerplyr, I highly doubt any cardroom will allow any sort of note taking device at the table, unlike online poker, where it is a very good feature to take advantage of.
