Tip For Micro stakes players

DON'T BLUFF!!!

Unless you're sure its the kind of player you can bluff out of a hand.

Here's why you don't need to bluff.....

....because the donks will pay you off anyway.

The funny thing is, as played that final heart was actually a bad card for my hand, I figured, any non heart hand can't possibly call here. The reason for the big bet on the river, was that I figured if he had a smaller heart he might pay me off in this spot. Turns out, he'd probably pay me off with TPTK so it didn't much matter anyway.

  • In fact, I don't even like bluffing in general at this level. This worked, but really almost didn't, and I find that in order to blff most opponents at this level, you're triple barrelling most of the time as is the case here.

Villain in this case was a solid player, and the one time I tried to semi bluff he called me down, so I left him very much alone after that. Later on in the session I thought I could get away with this because I can't seem him checking AQ, KQ in this spot with two hearts on board, and he knows I love playing suited connectors to raises even. The second call surprised me, and started me worrying, but in the end he folded so he probably had a decent pocket pair (JJ, 99) or a missed flush draw most likely.

Anyway, even though this worked, it almost didn't so dont bluff unless you're 90% sure you can get away with it!! You might even be able to get away with never bluffing, I guess my point is, you can tone down the frequency at these levels and you might find it fixes alot of problems with your game. It certainly seems to have helped mine.

    Gl at the tables.
