  • Anytime you put all your $ in with 78 is plus e.v.
    Mark
  • push preflop to see where you're at
  • so you guys saying the mistake is the preflop?
    i should should preflop?
  • I don't have a complaint about the play perse, you were a 2:1 favourite on the flop and got your opponent to commit all his chips drawing to 6 clean outs (or running cards). He misses the turn, you are a 4:1 fav.. He just drew out on you.

  • Completely agree with Zunni, even an old tight guy like me goes broke there. You got it in good, what more can you do? He's drawing to only 5 outs.... 2 A's and 3 Nines.
  • shove it or bet it,
    just dont fold it
  • At that level tournament I bet out on the flop, as there really is no real need to fancy slow play. Many players with any ace or any straight draw will call, and many will raise/call an all in with any ace, even A2 when basically they are behind nearly everything. Note, if you pot bet, get called , and an ace hits the turn , then you probably will have to get away from the hand.

That's my only suggestion, but getting it all in on that flop in that level tournament is kind of a rhetorical question. If you are folding 78 on that flop (unless opponent is an ultra beyond extreme nit, and even then probably shove) then that is a huge EV leak in your game.

Also understand that these "should I have gotten it in?" scenarios when you clearly should have gotten it in and were a healthy favorite are kind of silly. Bad beats like this suck, but this is basically a variation of should I fold KK preflop type question (bizarre satellite/bubble/player reads aside).
  • bet out on the flop with the intention of getting it all in

    as played it's standard though
  • oh, sorry guy
i need to ask question more clearly
    pardon my english
if it's cash game, i push this any day any time.
    but for MTT
    i have around M12
top 9 get paid, from my exprience, M12 here get paid alot.
maybe not top3, but some money.
    my question would be
during MTT, with so close to the money, should i have play any different

    my question would be
should i play a smaller pot instead of allin. since it's unraise pot.

    No NO... aND fucking NO

You need to hoover up chips now, if your trying to squeek into money then dont play MTT they wont ever be profitable

you played it fine as played it was just a BadBeat
  • C'mon man you got your money in good in a spot where you need to double to make a run at first...I don't believe that you are this results oriented with the amount of poker that you play.

    hehehe
take me a while to not be result oriented on cash game
    MTT is different
if i look at the amount of MTT i got out just before money, because i was aiming for top 3.....i could easily fold to the money, say 200 MTT.
instead been losing $660, i could be up at least $1500-$2000.
huge difference for $3.30 mtt player
now, i know that going for top 3 is the right play as that is where all the money is.
i must be doing something wrong, i'm trying to find my MTT leak
  • send me the HHs and i would love to go through it and give feedback

it would be a great exercise

    that has to wait
    i use HEM
and HEM hand export does seperate cash and tourny yet....
HEM tourny support is coming next week or two.
after i reimport, i'll be able to export the tournment HH
thanks for the offer, i'm very looking forward to it

Fold preflop if you prefer. Once you see the flop that you saw whether you limped or raised, you need to get it all in or else why bother playing that hand?

Not really sure what other type of answer you are looking for here.
  • Same basic hand, different result. I would play it the same in a MTT. Get your money in with the best of it and Pray!
