Another Really Strange Spot

$3 rebuy after rebuy period. roadbomber is loose bad and makes strange plays that make no sense, bellegio is a horrible -84% ROI guy so his min reraise preflop as I had said in other threads about players like this is nearly always AA or KK

and here we are, really strange guy min bets 200 into the 3000+ pot and after me is min reraiser who definitely has KK/AA nearly all the time, but I have no idea how he will handle the bet, he could very well call or min raise it. I have basically 2 outs, so I made the really annoying fold and the hand played out pretty much as I expected except of course for the river from hell :P

Monteroy: folds
bellegio51: raises 2600 to 2800
roadbomber: calls 2600
*** TURN *** [3h 2h Ts] [3d]

roadbomber: shows [9h 9s] (two pair, Nines and Threes)
bellegio51: shows [Kh Ks] (two pair, Kings and Threes)

Note, I did not see this type of play that often in the Sunday million last week, go figure :P

So, is my fold bad, should I just call the 200 knowing I may just be lighting them on fire if the guy with AA/KK raises big? Again, I had no idea what to expect , he did just check the turn and call the river so anything really was possible.

  • I think you played it well, although calling 200 into a 3K is ok odds-wise. But folding when you know you're behind is never bad. You saved $200.

Well, I did not fold because I knew I was behind, I folded because I had no idea what the bad player with KK/AA would do, but anticipated a raise so figure no point.

Oddly enough the -86% guy went out in another pattern often seen by those players, the bet every street small enough to not get opponents to fold when bluffing play. I generally do not recommend it.
