what would you do?

This was a hand in the $10+1 pokerstars Turbo Qualifers for the $215 tournie

I have a just below average stack, with 40 players left and top 23 win $215 and 24th wins $95. In less than two orbits of the blinds and antes my entire stack will be consumed. So i essentially need to play a hand in the next 10-12 hands unless i successfully steal some blinds

What would you have done? Basicly I’m the small blind and I read this as another player likely trying to steal the 2000 dead in the pot. I think I did the right thing.

I guess it may just be bitterness, i never seem to be able to survive the close hump in these tournies

my only consolation and really not much of one is that the guy who made that move on me finished dead on the bubble, in 25th.

  • I think you made the right move.

As you said you were feeling the heat and you couldn't afford to wait much longer for a big hand. You got all your money in the middle with the best of it at the time and were outdrawn.
  • chugs: shows [Ad Jh]
    ThomasToget: shows [Kh Th]

Doesn't that answer your question? You pushed in as a favourite when the blinds were starting to become an issue. Sounds like a good situation to me.
  • This is a borderline hand, and the action I would take here would *heavily* depend on the player style read I had on the raiser.

If the opponent seems to be raising pre-flop more than his fair share, a call here is certainly reasonable. Against a player who is more likely to have a legitimate hand, AJ is probably in big trouble because the raise is coming from such a player in a non-stealing position.

Holy cow, hold on a minute. I just noticed that the tournament has a Turbo blind schedule. Forget everything I said already... I think this is an easy call.
