    Not yet.
  • Nice. If the structure/rake is decent I'll probably play a few Tuesday tournaments over the summer.
  • Just called the poker room. they just announced this yesterday and got the signage for it today. First tournament is this Sunday.
    -
    Sundays - Buy in is $535 - Starting stack $7500 - blinds start at 50 / 100 - 30 minute levels. Re-buys for first 4 levels
    -
Tuesdays - Buy in is $165 - Same structure as above
    -
Maximum number of entries is 150 (15 tables)
    -
There will be daily satellites for the $535 - $120 buy-ins (single table of 10 players)- top 2 get a ticket- didn't get the structure of the satty but I would think its similar to Winter Classic sattys

Structure as posted by FU Trigs in B&M thread, figured this was a good place to copy it to,

    1 - 50-100
    2 - 75-150
    3 - 75-150-25
    4 - 100-200-25
    5 - 150-300-50
    6 - 200-400-50
    7 - 250-500-75
    8 - 300-600-75
    9 - 400-800-100
    10 - 500-1000-100
    11 - 600-1200-200
    12 - 800-1600-200
    13 - 1000-2000-300
    14 - 1200-2400-400
    15 - 1500-3000-500
    16 - 2000-4000-500
    17 - 2500-5000-500
    18 - 3000-6000-1000
  • If that is the same structure for the 165 as the 550 that would be great, especially for a casino, but I'm guessing the rake would be prohibitive if that is the case.

Rake for Sunday is $35 and for Tuesday is $15

That is real low... both of them.... I hope there isn't some catch we're missing, like 5 min blinds, lol
  • It's amazing their adding tournaments. I'm there this weekend but unfortunately leaving Sunday afternoon. Would love to play it. Would be interested in knowing what the field composition is like if anyone plays.

A question I have, probably not the right place but, does Fallsview/Niagara validate overnight parking with several hours or poker play? Trying to avoid the outrageous parking fees at the hotel.
  • I've stayed at the hotels across from Fallsview and haven't had issues with having to pay with minimal play. But haven't been at Niagara but imagine it's the same system
  • We are staying across the street from Fallsview. But the poker room is now at Niagara and will be playing there. Are they still considered the same if I park at one and play at another?

    30 minute blinds
  • do you know at what time does it start, are you going this week dj?

They start at 12:30pm, registration starts at 12:00pm -

Unfortunately I cannot attend this weekend but will be going to as many as I can. Will probably try the satties during the week, after work to get in.
  • When I get a chance I will go down on a Tuesday and see what the structure of that one is..Really hard to believe it's the same structure as the $535.

They are the same. Just get a player's ard if you don't have one and use it when you play. Even minimal play will cover parking at both casinos.
  • ^ thanks. I have a card. Haven't ever used it though. Do I hand it to the brush desk when first sitting down, or when leaving, how does that all work?

For poker, you give it to the dealer.
  • i'm going to play the mtt tomorrow, anyone else going?
  • Wish I could, please take notes and confirm entry #'s, blinds, levels, rake etc.

    will do
  • I'd also like to know if they allow alternates or late registration, and I'm curious about how many cash game tables are running during the tournament. Do they close them all down?

  • Two of the best poker supervisors at Fallsview/Niagara Casinos - forum alumni 13CARDS and Amy - have been posting the details on Facebook and I took notes on Sunday, so I can confirm that what they posted did happen on Sunday and it will be the same today. 7500 starting chips, 75 big blinds, WPT FPC blind structure starting at 50/100, 30-minute levels. There were 40 entries and the prize pool was $19,400.

I wrote an article about poker in Ontario two years ago in Casino World Magazine, including a table of all the many tournaments and poker rooms available in our province, but unfortunately, almost all of the poker changes since then have been bad news, including Great Blue Heron, :'( Rama :rage: and Brantford. Casino Niagara's new tournaments are the first great news in a while. :h:

Another player and I had a meeting with two Fallsview Casino Shift Managers last year and they promised us new daily tournaments, so I'm ecstatic that three tournaments have been approved so far and now running. I will be wearing a "I :h: Fallsview" shirt :D so say hi and let me know of any more questions. You can also submit suggestions to them for future tournaments.

Unlimited re-entries, late registration and alternates are allowed until the end of the first break or level 5 start. I think there were 7-9 cash game tables running on Sunday.
  • Nice to see you back blondefish.
  • Does anyone know how many players they had for the Tuesday tourney?

That's not too bad. More than I expected. I'll try to make it over the next few weeks
  • So i went to Casino Niagara on Tuesday to support the mtts that they started this week. I went with sn1pedad and sn1pemom since we haven't had a poker trip in a while.

We reached around 1:00pm went to the cashier and registered. it was a $165 with $19.5 as rake. I was the 40th player registered and it was a couple minutes before level 2 ( i guess they started a few minutes late). Starting stack is 7.5k and the first level is 50/100. I really like that there is something to play for early and stacks can easily go in playing only 75bbs deep. The chips are new and clean, poker room looks really good with much better tables. I got to the poker room, signed a paper indicating i'm over age etc.. and was seated at my table. I only lasted 4 levels before my AA<KJcc on t65cc gii and he binks the club.

Sn1pedad made the final table (8 got paid) and busted in 4th. My mom only plays cash games and probably waited about 10-15 minutes for a 1/3 game to fill up.

I hopped into the 1/3 game, there was a seat right away and crushed it while waiting for my dad. There were a lot of cash game tables running by 4:00pm and everyone seemed excited about the mtt and how many players it brought. A huge +, you can now buy chips at the desk instead of going to the cashier (not sure about registering for mtt)

It was nice to see blondfish, he also fted but didn't cash.

I really enjoyed it overall, and would definitely go back to play it in the future.

A couple things i hope they change in the future are 1) having a big blind ante instead of traditional ante. It slows the game and the dealers have to remind everyone after every hand as well as people bickering about who did or who didn't put one etc..
    2) There was a 1 hour break(at 7pm i think), imo that is way too long for a 1 day tournament with people having work the next day and i'm sure with 15 minutes, it is enough time for someone to go order a snack if they are hungry. Imo change it to 4 levels-15 mins-re-entry ends then 3 levels-15mins break- 3 levels-15min break and so on.

    Here are some pics.
