WSOP NEWS: WSOP ANNOUNCES 2016 EVENT DATES

  • For those who want to satellite into the WSOP to overcome paying > 38% more for US dollars plus 30% taxes, here is the WSOP schedule and news release.

With the new blind structure, the cost per round (CPR) more than triples from level 2 to 3! It goes from 150 (50/100) to 475 (75/150 + 25 ante * 10 seats). Antes will start in level 3 already instead of level 5 from previous years.

For the U$565-U$1K NLHE events with 5,000 starting chips, which most recreational players will take their WSOP shot at, such as the Colossus, Ladies, Seniors, Tag Team and Casino Employees, this means that you are already in the Orange Zone by level 3 compared to level 5 before. The Patience Factor worsens from 30.51 to 21.12. The blind-off time (world's most patient player) worsens from 5.52 hours to 4.6.

DirtArse and I plan to fly to Las Vegas around June ~16, and I will stay up to July 5. If anybody we know wants to share accommodation (house instead of hotel?) and car, or wants to exchange for US dollars at a better rate than the banks, PM me.
  • You beat me to it Phil, ill get you next year :)

  • With WSOP, Venetian and Golden Nugget schedules out, it's time to start planning which Las Vegas tournaments to try to satellite into. DirtArse and I are planning to fly to Vegas around June 13 and return after we play the $1,000 WSOP event on June 17-19. When I'm not playing these tournaments that are +EV for me, I will mostly be grinding the WSOP satellites at the Rio and possibly some cash games.

  • what does the "tax free" mean for #13?

its a survivor....so I'm assuming 10% of the field gets paid, keeping your winnings below the 5k threshhold, hence tax free
  • 888 is running satty's to event 54 $888 buy in. Satty's are $160 and package winners win 3k package ($888 for tourney, $1400 travel expenses, 4 nights at the Rio (July 1-4)

Also running for the main event.....don't think any others are running satties as of yet.
  • With at least four people I know playing in the U$2,500 HPO on June 23-26, one of our options is to rent a Las Vegas house while we're there. For example, it can cost as little as U$57/night :o for each of ten people in a 5-bedroom mansion.

Is anybody willing to commit to certain dates and prepay? DirtArse and I are planning to arrive in Vegas on June 12/13, and I may stay as long as July 8.

  • Two dudes to a bed is not an option for me.....

lol, and $17K a month rent seems a little steep...
  • It would be a lot of fun to stay in a poker house while I'm there, it's a great idea Blond. I know its a long way off but keep me in mind for next year I would totally go for this.

  • What about ~U$37/night for each of four people in a newly-furnished house with four beds, swimming pool and two bathrooms? DirtArse is returning to TO on June ~19, so I'm looking for housemates for June ~19+ up to July ~9 (after I finish playing WSOP Tag Team Event). Sharing a house with PocketsTwos plus 1-3 housemates in Montreal worked out pretty well, and kept our expenses low while having a lot of fun during WSOP/WPT Montreal.
