Vegas! June 15-20
Is anyone else headed down during this period? Looks like there is at least 1 survivor tournament on and at least 1 low buy-in VSE deep stack. Plus tons of 1/3 and 2/5 cash action.
Flights out of Detroit are ~$300 less than Toronto. Anyone have any experience with this? Like where to park safely for a few days? Is the poker action in Windsor/Detroit worth a stop before/after the trip?
Best Western Plus Casino Royale is in the heart of the Strip and pretty cheap compared to nearby Treasure Island and the others. Anyone stayed there before?
I'm looking for pointers from Vegas veterans.
TIA.

There is usually some coupon rate you have to mention when you book.
Never stayed at the Best Western Plus Casino Royale, but judging by the casino, I would not stay there.

Since they tore down O'Shea's and Bill's though it is now the shitholiest casino left on the strip. Wouldn't be surprised if the regulars can get it by the hour.
I would like to play in the June 14 WSOP Deep Stack Satellite at Caesars Windsor too, but may still be in Las Vegas for the June 16 Survivor. I'm hoping to soon hear from Howard, pokerJAH, StinkyFingers, my WPT CSC roommates & all my other friends that claimed they will go to Las Vegas this summer so that I can book my flight & rooms.
Just curious if anyone has any horror stories. Reviews seem OK but there might be s problem with noise in the rooms at the back?
I need a place for a few hours sleep, a morning workout and a shower.

Venetian for sure. I had to hunt around a bit for it though.

Is it just you going? I have had very good results when booking Flight + Hotel for two, versus singles.
For the love of god don't stay at the Best Western Casino Royale.

do you have experience? do tell!
I'm hoping I can convince at least one other to go...
My exerience is that its a dump. Only been to the casino portion, but were talking about 10 bucks more per night for a 40% reduction in the amount of jizz on your pillow.*
*stats are approximate
where is 10 bucks more? the resort fee alone is 28...
I guess gone are the days of the Excalibur for $18 a night and a free upgrade when you hand the kiosk girl a $20.
Our last trip we stayed at the Wynn, so we had planned on the fee. Had no idea this had spread to the whole damn strip.

Ever since CET changed their stance and started charging, that's basically the case. TI will allow you to waive the fee though but sounds like it's not an option as price is significantly higher.
What's the deal with flying out of Detroit/Buffalo anyway? I have never found good enough deals to consider this option. A few weeks ago on bookit.com I found 7 nights at Treasure Island, westjet flight (upgraded to noon arrival in Vegas and afternoon flight home), and two tickets to a show for under $1000.00 all-in (Can. Funds). With the extra gas and time it takes, I don't get it. If only westjet were offering flights to Vegas out of Waterloo Wellington!

TI will waive if you ask.
I've found Vegas flights for low to mid $200s before, but even now at $330~ consistently and if you're going with 3-4 others it's potentially worth it
With the flight out of buffalo we stayed at the Wynn for $700 all in (plus resort fee) - Well over 1k if we flew from Canada. I am biased though as BUF is the same distance for me as YYZ. If you can find a non stop from Toronto for a reasonable price, yeah of course!
Sounds like a good deal, how many nights was that?
Thanks for the tip! Unfortunately I haven't stayed anywhere on strip that doesn't
charge a resort fee.
