Gotta get back on Stars, so...

Ok, so PokerStars is the best place to play online poker and I have an account. However, I was a bad boy (see dumb ass) in my youth and owe them money. Actually quite a bit of money.

However, I have learned my lesson and am ready to play on the straight and narrow and I have heard from PokerStars that my account is active and can play real money games as soon as I pay them back. This was/is not easy for me to admit and I realize I am showing my warts.

The opportunity:

For the sum of $1200, considered a loan, with $120 monthly payments starting on the 15th of September, on going for 12 consecutive months (that's right, 20% ROI GTD). Payable via any method of loaners choosing (PokerStars, EMT, home delivery, etc...)

Then to make it more worthwhile, 10% of any monthly profits going forward for the next 12 months. Granted, this will start out small as I build my roll, but if I bink a big one, so do you. And this requires no additional money from you. Again, paid monthly, so if I have one good month and lose the rest you get paid on the good month and lose nothing in the bad ones.

Any early payment of the loan has to include the interest as well.

This is open to as many of you that wants to take part. This amount provides me a little extra to get the roll started as well. Obviously the entire amount will have to be paid out, so let's just start a reserve for now and once sold, I will let you know my account name for the transfer.

I am out on a limb here and I don't expect anyone to take me up on this offer but I can't stand the other sites any more and want to get back to some serious volume.

  • How can you owe a site money?
  • Definitely intrigued, but cannot take the whole lot. Might go for 10% if a group will come together for this.

Also, +1 on GTA's post. Don't want to pry, but it seems a strange circumstance to be in . . .
  • Maybe he started a hockey pool and left with everyones money.
  • How you owe a site money, is to make a deposit with money that is not in the bank account they have on file for you. When said deposit gets returned, the site deducts it from your poker acccount, if said poker account had less money than the deposit, you are now in a negative balance.

I have since learned bankroll management and was fine on Full Tilt until they did to me what I did to PokerStars.

It all might be moot any way, if I can ship Westside or the deep stack tourney at Brantford. Offer still stands until I bink $1200 in some live tourney somewhere.

So both PokerStars & FTP credits your account for the entire amount and lets you play right away without waiting for the deposit to clear?

    Yup
  • HVEE, is that you?

I knew I could take some heat for this and deservedly so. I have every intention of paying pokerstars back and I have never, ever stiffed a fellow poker player of any money.
  • Thanks for the scoop . . . I would still take 10%, if others are willing to join in. Based on your track record, I see it being a win-win.
  • Thanks Milo, I may even let you cash at your next tourney :)
  • I might even invite you, then . . .
  • What are the game, volume details, etc?

I know I have offered to back you in the past and then we decided to end it early -- can you post more details as to why you need a roll and whatever else may encourage me to back you? You can PM me here if you prefer that to a public post.

Am I reading correctly that you are guaranteeing 120% payout regardless of your results?

    Please see bold,

Nothing against you djgolfcan but people cannot transfer to you on stars while you owe stars money is that right? Even if they can anybody who does that is now "associated" with you and their accounts are now at risk if you owe stars money ever again.

Again nothing against you or this venture but just want to make people aware of risks involved.
  • Urm . . . how exactly would my account be at risk? If somebody I transferred $$$ to on Stars ends up owing Stars at some future date, how exactly does that give them the right to sieze my account?
  • Maybe he started a hockey pool and left with everyones money.

No offense, good on you OP for owning up, but the one line zingers are still worth a chuckle.

    Carry on...
  • i do believe you can be transfered to on stars but the money just instantly goes towards the debt...

  • Thanks for the tip Philly. I will send a message to Stars and see what they say. I have been offered dormant accounts to play on, or the suggestion to just try to open a new account.

I have turned them all down as I do not want to jeopardize my account with PokerStars, nor anyone elses account.

My initial thoughts are that my account has never been involved in colluding or cheating, just a bad deposit history. I don't see how that could affect anyone transferring money to my account. But I will see what they say.

Any way you slice it, to them it's fraud. An account that transfers money to this account would come in to question.

I would suggest e-mailing Stars, explaining to them what you are offering here, to get their 'OK'. Maybe post their response here assuming it's favourable and you may get more interest.
  • Here is the e-mail I got back from Stars, I really don't like the word "strongly advise". Looks like site tranfer is not an option. Guess I'll just have to win Westside tomorrow.

    Hello Devon,

    Thank you for your email.

If you are worried about this outcome, then we strongly advise that you make a deposit using your own financial details to cover the negative balance on your account.

If there is anything else that we can help you with, please feel free to contact us anytime.

All the best at the tables, and thank you for choosing PokerStars.

    Subject: Transfers to my account

my account name is djgolfcan and my account is in a negative balance.
I have some friends that may be willing to transfer me money from their
account but are concerned that their accounts may be flagged being
    associated with a delinquent account.

Are there any risks to them ? I don't want to jeopardize anyone else for my
    mistake.

    Thanks for your consideration.

  • We have been informed that the following INSTADEBIT deposit has been returned
as unpaid: The exact reason for the return was not communicated to us.

Please contact INSTADEBIT at security@instadebit.com for further details.

As you received the funds for this deposit in your PokerStars account at
the time you made your deposit request, the amount of your returned deposit has been deducted from your PokerStars account balance.

If you did not have a sufficient balance in your PokerStars account to cover
the amount of this returned deposit, your PokerStars balance will be
    negative.

You may still use your PokerStars account in the meantime, but any deposits you make will be applied towards your negative balance. This also includes any transfers you receive.
not sure if this directly applies but im sure no one will get associated with fraud...

    lol....yeah, this

you'd think they'd be highly motivated to clear this outstanding balance
  • So far we have 20% reserved and a request for a secret meeting at Westside from someone who wishes to remain anonomous.

Have I told you how much I love this Forum. Even if this doesn't work out, you guys are awesome !!

I have yet to attend any Forum member tourney or event that was not a complete blast.
  • Aaahhh you just loved the wife's cooking . . . so? Cash at the WSPC, then?

It was the best I have ever been fed at a poker game, that's for sure. No need to pony up the dough quite yet, only 20% reserved so far.
  • Sold out !!

I will be PMing the details of where and how to send the funds. E-mail money tranfer looks to be the safest and I will make the monthly payments the same way.

Regular, monthy spreadsheets will be sent as well to keep you up to date on how I'm doing so you know what your 10% profit sharing will be, hope its a lot.

I won't divulge the names on here, or their percentage, unless they want to.
  • Bumping in anticipation of the first monthly review . . . lulz
