Any one Intrested in hearing about Heads Up Entertainment Stock?

Heads Up Entertainment owns the Canadian Poker Tour and Canadian Poker Player Magazine. Alot of people are members of the CPT but I wonder how many have taken a hard look at the overall plan and alliances in place.

I will leave it at that for now and make sure Graham won't kick my ass for posting more about it.

  • Do you mean the one that is trading on the Pink Sheets as HDUP for $0.15 with thin volume? sure. Shoot.

Disclosure. how much do you own and in at what price? not the place for a pump and dump.
  • stick your money in some good oil companies and wait a couple years; penny stocks are for chumps.
  • Gonna exchange some work for some, not trying to pump and dump at all. It's good to hear the views of players who are also investors. People seperating what they like from business. It is something I am also just learning about.

I hear the "pink sheets" is not a good sign, also told it will go to full reporting/financial audits soon.

What else can you tell about what you do and don't like about it?

I will be trying to promote the stock with gambling/on line investers, but I need to get my facts straight and open disccussion with those that know both sides of the business is probabblly the best way to do so.

Thanks for your input and keep it coming both positive or negative.
  • I don't see how they make money with no exposure. You don't really hear about the CPT, the magazine is nearly invisble outside of casinos, not even sure if theres a tv deal or not.

Definitely not trying to be a hard ass here but I've worked in the securities industry for 10 years so I am ALWAYS skeptical about anyone promoting stocks. Even people I know and trust.

When you say "promote the stock", what do you mean by that. If you are not versed on the nature of Pink Sheets stocks then you could get yourself into a whole lot of trouble with the SEC and the IIROC.

If they move to a proper exchange that would be better but they have their stock on a secondary market so they should already be producing "full reporting/financial audits" or the SEC would crush them with the Securities Act of 1933.

I'd like to hear more about it as the info on their site is terrible and smacks of trying to spin a lame duck into a Peregrine falcon.

I gamble with poker money('cause I still suck), not savings and investments.

Good luck and keep us updated.

As for the CPT......I haven't seen much of it and it seems the vast majority of tourneys are in Alberta. Being in Ontario and not a decent player yet I wouldn't travel to get to a tourney but I might try to catch one of the few local events.

What else is Heads Up into? they mention nothing else on their site.
  • I almost want to keep this conversation going in general chat, as just what player think of the CPT is intresting to hear, but I thought this was the best place.

I won't even pretend to know anything about stocks, why this is all helpfull. I want to know more about it and promote it for a couple of reasons. When I say promote, I mean put the word out there, let people know what is going on around here, where CPT is the game. Besides all that, I have a chance to get ahold of some stock, so I hope it will turn out to be a good trade. I want to own a piece, kinda like I collect casino chips. I haven't sold my Holland ones yet, even though I seen them sell for a good profit on E-bay. I am not actually selling stock, not in the business to do so but I want to know what those that know think.

I am facinated by the industry and amount of money that pumps threw it. As a recreational player in the West, the CPT is all I know north of Vegas and Calgary of course is one of the bigger Venues. I know they are slowly getting more involved down east.

Heads Up owns the Canadian Poker Player Magazine. Actyper pointed the magazine is only distributed in casinos or as part of the CPT card membership in the form of a subscription. Heads Up plans to make the card a reloadable Smartchip Card once there are enough of them out there.

One reason is that some of the high rollers here have been robbed leaving the casino and for others, it is almost a good bankroll management tool or easier than cash.

Heads Up also has broadcast some with "The Score" with more 9 more hours planned in the fall. They taped the CPT invatational which was co-organized with WPS.

WPS is also working with CPT on the Hard Rock Event and there are a few more joint events scheduled now, including a cruise and an event in Costa Rica.

The sad fact is that the word Canadian alone gets alot of players discounting it right away. WPS branding helps and the CPT's player base looking for a "World" experience works for WPS.

Bigger mainstream poker sites are also starting to run sats for the bigger buyin events and packages. I think it all has along way to go, but hope that the poker world I know gets there.

Thats where it is all at now, but I think if anyone can put Canadian Poker on the map hard, Kelly Kellner is the guy.

There is alot of star power slowly coming into the Canadian scene, with the 5k HU being the driving force. Alot of our local high rollers are starting to get in tight with TV pro's and having fun, so they should come back more often, even if it is just for the Canadian Poker Open for awhile. Taking CPT to Vegas I think is gonna help get it out there alot too.

Lets keep this thread going too, the players here know their poker and poker brands, if the CPT is going to join the big show, these are all things that need to be worked on.

    Thanks!
  • So I asked the questions people are asking and this is what I learned. Will mean more to those into stocks than me, so anyone that can elaborate please do....

The full financial corprate audit should be completed in 30-45 days and is the companies top priority. A "15c211" will be filed to establish a "fully reporting" status.

The next step is to have the stock cross listing on the Canadian Exchange.

    My notes mention "RRSP-House".

Can someone help explain all this?

15c211 is an SEC (american regulatory body) rule that will allow HDUP stock price to be quoted by brokerages to their clients among other benefits. It's a step towards legitimacy and away from Pink Sheets trading. good sign.

Listing on a Canadian exchange will be a decent step to getting more liquidity (active trading) into the stock. It will probably be on the Venture Exchange of the TSX (formerly the Vancouver exchange) so it still won't be a fully legitimate looking stock until it can make the requirements necessary for TSX or New York listing. If they do make the Venture exchange look for a quick boost in stock price but that will only be sustained with continued good news and reports of positive cash flow.

RRSP-House is a bit vague. Any other info around this?

Edit - Saw the commercial on TV. Good sign if this tourney is a hit. Did you end up getting some stock in exchange for work?
  • We will see, the work is far from done.

Thanks for your help in explaining more. A player that backs me owns stock too, so either way, just looking to help the cause.

I ain't a shyster, even if I have been a poker whore as of late.

I believe Canadian Poker and the brand is still in its infancy, but if all the pieces countine to fall into place AND work out the way everyone hopes, we will be on the map in the poker world.

No doubt these could be no more than pipe dreams, but I'm a dreamer.

And no doubt this whole thread is really "Forward Looking statements", but really what I am responsible to do is let people know that this stuff even exists.

Those that are educated and in touch will sort out the rest.
  • So I asked about the RRSP's. That is the second step, I gather. The finacials and the cross listing have to happen first, with the stock being listed on the Canadian Exchange.

    Then this becomes eligible.

Sounds like you would have already known that, not sure if this helps.
  • I see. RRSP eligible. Not sure what the HOUSE part was supposed to mean.

Being RRSP eligible will open up the purchasing base as there are a lot of people who have not maxed out their RRSP so haven't built up much in their open cash trading accounts.

Haven't looked at what is required for that lately though...but foreign listed stocks are also eligible if it is a proper exchange (not OTC, Pinks etc).

    Thanks for the info. GL.
