Who's the "bad" player here?

I got the comment, "Must be nice to play so bad and still win" after this hand. It was a $2 multi-table tournament and we're down to 3 players. I'm the low stack:

This is against your standard passive-aggressive player who only pushes with mint hands. My reasoning, I'm the low stack, any pair is favoured over any non-pair, I only stand to make 13 dollars more for first place over third. So, bad play or not?

BTW..I went on to win first place.

  • preflop bet was a little large for me. i'd make a standard raise. no point in committing a third of your chips at this point. however, once he pushes you're pretty much committed to the hand with your 3000 in the pot at this point i think. kind of hard to say you played it bad considering you were technically ahead the entire time. any pocket pair in three way play is likely to be the best hand for sure. still, it was only 3s.

    WRONG WRONG WRONG

Blinds are 300/600...anything less than 6000 in chips is a push...any pair any ace

You played it right, so did AK...he didn't connect and got pissy...nicely done

Okay, misread the HH...still, as played, three handed, was still a call I think. Especially when the payouts are so close

my bad. i misread. i thought BB was 300.
  • Thanks for your comments. The villain here went out after 3 more hands when he went all-in with A-8 and I called him with pocket Ks. Revenge is sweet. :)
  • i'd prolly raise less than you did, but still shove to his reraise regardless. Any PP is shoveable in 3way action at the final table when you're the short stack...unless you have a read that says otherwise.

    Anyone see things differently?
