One hell of a finish
I went into the final table as chip leader -- lady to the left of me was the only other in contention. The combined stacks of the other 6 players on the table barely equaled my/her stack. It was me vs her, heads up, final two.
We went back and forth for 40 minutes. Her peak was 280,000 of the 380k chips in play; mine 320k. Both took a big pot with KJ, both won an all-in bluff with seven-deuce, and 18 of the first 24 hands didnt see a flop.
On the final hand, preflop call-check. Flop came :5c :8c :9d
I check. She pushes all-in. I call instantly.
I flip :jh :8s
She flips :jd :9h
Man, I was happy with 2nd. That was an amazing finish to an amazing tournament by both of us. The only downer was that most people left a few hands in and didnt get to see it.
