Current state of CPF!

I've been very impressed with the state of CPF lately. It's great to see some real relevent poker discussions here lately.

The only negative thing I've seen is how many members are heading to Las Vegas and I'm not :(

Well done everyone!

  • I have to say I was a little nervous when opening this (as you did use an exclamation point), but am glad to hear it is good news :) Thanks for the feedback Johnnie and to all the members contributing to make this possible!
  • Yep, I've been more interested in checking the site out on a more regular basis lately as well. The life tilt stuff was funny for a while, but then the novelty wore off. It's not what I come to this site for.

I don't contribute lots of stuff like hand histories myself, but I certainly read almost every single one that is posted. I know that most/lots of people on here have much more experience playing NLHE than I do, and other games as well so it remains an excellent resource. Quinner has been an excellent catalyst for discussion for a while now. He's fearless in terms of some of the questions he asks and that impresses me.

I've never really checked out other poker forums for any extended period of time. I've looked at Full Tilt. Absolutely terrible and the average age of forumers appears to be 16. The other day I checked out Titan's forum. It's virtually non-existent, and I'm sure I saw a tumbleweed roll across the screen.

Plus it's nice to have a forum based out of Canada for some reason. Hard to explain. Anyhoo, glad the forum's here. Glad to participate.

Although, in spite of the fact that I whine so much about having forum games, tonight I might actually bail if we don't get a better turnout. BBQ and beer is calling and I am fighting with resisting.
  • +1 to both Johnnie and Bill on this one.

I agree with you completely about liking the Canadian aspect Bill. I think that our poker is very similar to the athletes, actors, comics and pro wrestlers that come out of Canada. We just have a certain style that as Canadians we all relate to and make work for us.
  • pokerforum.ca = poker discussion again.

While I agree with your sentiments in principal, there is room for both poker discussion and most everything else as well... We are too small a community to just survive on poker alone....
  • Leave it to the geezer to be the voice of reason . . .
  • First and foremost this is a Poker Forum.

It isn't about advertising. It isn't about selling you something. It isn't a place to post hate, or porn, or flame wars. It most definitely is not about one poster with an axe to grind.

You get what you give here. The more you contribute the nicer place this forum becomes, and the more you get out of it. It feels good to help people for no reason other than to give back. Every person here has gotten something out of this place in the past. Just pay that forward again.

Just remember what this place is a about. It is a poker forum.
  • + mirrion= i love saying mirrion!!!!:)

can't argue with good poker discussion, keep it up:)
  • We just need some more Limit poker discussion and we'd be set......
  • I min raise you...
  • I don't care what you all say...there hasn't been an increase in poker talk..just nothing to distract one from it.

    One word...

    Boring.

I quite like the other nonsense that goes on here along with the poker talk.
  • A: There has been an increase in poker talk in the last month - two, mostly thanks to my current favorite forumer Quinner.

B: I, and I would suggest most of the "silent majority" prefer the poker talk here, otherwise go to a site for internet nuttiness like:

CollegeHumor - Funny Pictures, Funny Videos, Funny Links!
Funny Videos & Free TV shows - Humor - Break.com
Funny Videos, Funny Pictures, Flash Games, Jokes

C: I do miss Kristy's participation (and her too, bitch best be coming to my BBQ)

D: I'm really tired at the # of posters with their lips firmly suctioned to Kristy's balloon knot....

    Mark
  • Think I agree with all the above, cept maybe D, cuz I have no clue what it means....

The balloon knot is a sly reference to Kristy's tushie, Jeff.

I thought it was a reference to a malformed (yet chewy) clit ....guess I was wrong.
  • eeewwww . . .
  • At least it took till page two before we got to discussing Kristies body parts.
  • Baaaaaaaaaaa.

This site is like a lawn bowling club now. I mean it was before but it's lost it's fun edge.

This is what Kristy offered this club.

Unfortunately some saw it simply as her kicking thier balls. It's really too bad.

But the lawn bowlers have spoken... let there be more uninteruprted lawn bowling discussions.
  • Followed the link:

So, you're saying she offered childish behaviour that disrupted the enjoyment of others for no other reason than, "she felt like it"?

Jeez Awesome even I gave Kristy more props than that . . .
  • Some of you lawn bowlers are too damn serious about your lawn bowling.

Have some fun. Be social. Loosen up. Let your brains be exposed to other things besides lawn bowling.

Otherwise you just become a bunch of social outcasts the rest of society mocks and laughs at how seriously you take things when one of them kicks a few of your balls around.

Kristy enjoyed lawn bowling yet knew it was just lawn bowling.

Anyway there were so many sheep giving thier 'me too' opinions here I just thought I would be entitled to share mine.

    I guess not.

What is rather humourous is how this thread degenerated into talking about her malformed clit and tushie. Don't you see the irony here considering what Kristy was kicked for? Kettle meet pot.
  • Aaaah, I get it now. Oh the irony, hoisted on the collective petard, as it were.

I know not whether Kristy was kicked, or if she jumped ship, so to speak. And, while I miss her posts, I do not miss the occasional nonsense she would pull, just because she got a bug in her ear about something.

I liken it to the kid who continually pokes at his neighbour's dog. He gets his laughs, but not everyone finds it funny and, eventually, that dog is going to bite his ass. Kristy got her ass bit, that is all. This time she has decided to hold her breath for longer than usual . . .

As I have said before, I hope she comes back. But if not, meh . . .
  • she is still among us:)

Of this, I have no doubt. But not having it be under her nom de guerre is somewhat unsatisfying, no?
  • She wasn't kicked..... lol, she may have been fitted for cement overshoes, but meh, she's still around.... I've seen her peeking... :)

And awesome, I personally think yourself and a couple of other followers were what got her so hyped up... Kristy is actually a great person, and I mean that sincerely, but is somewhat prone to hysterics.....

Love ya gal, I know you're watching!
  • if it will bring her back, she can give me a makeover^-^:p

I'm putting in my request right now to have you done up like Mimi from the Drew Carey Show. I would pay real $$$ to see that. But you'd have to go to work dressed that way, as well.
