First table, 3rd round, blinds 100/200 (I think) (numbers could be slightly off, I forget exactly..was a lot of poker yesterday..lol)
I am BB -Q5
no raises, sb completes, I check...flop comes 5d 5c Xh..sb checks, I check (waiting for someone to bet out to re-raise maybe..depending who..mix of good bad and drunk at the table..yeah..drunk already, 3rd level..lol) good player on the button bets out about 500? I think it was...I figure he has nothing but on a steal in late position, so sb calls (which made me wonder..)and I call..rest of table folds (as I figured they would) Qc on the turn, I am golden. I figured there was roughly 2500 in the pot, and wanted to make sure of a call by the good guy so I bet out 500 after the sb checked...give him some good looking odds..but he folds, and sb then says....."well its only 500 to see if I can catch another club" I start praying for a club....A beautiful King of clubs hits the river...SB laughs out loud and tosses in 1000 chips.. (about 3k in his stack total, and same in mine) Rest of the table laughs a bit with him and looks at me...I shove..lol
SB looks at me like I am crazy...and snap calls...with 10c 7c...lmfao...he wasn't even drawing to the nut flush, nor did he hesitate to call my all in....
The best part was, he whined about the bad beat afterwards...lmao..I was looking forward to him on the cash table later.

SB- utg folds I have JJ and lead out with a 3x bet, it is folded ...3x was standard raise for everyone at the table..and I had shown the JJ prior...I show again.

BB looks silly surprised when I call...asks again "you call??"..I said "yep"
My AA to AdQd and he hits the straight on the turn, then the flush on the river. (not a royal)

Cash game...1/2 donk fest with a few good players between the two tables..
I watch buddy lose to set over set 2 hands in 3 and rebuy in for 50 each time... a hand later he makes a standard preflop raise to 6 bucks on the button..sb folds to me in the bb with 9s10s..I call the 4 bucks...flop 3 5 9 rainbow...he bets out 16 bucks ...not his normal continuation..seemed off...figure he is on 2 big ones..and flat call. (probably should have reraised..but..) Q on the turn and he checks to me, I smile to myself and check...he says "you have aces again don't you"...turn was 6? I think...and he checks, as do I because I don't think he is calling shit now unless he has the queen or even two pair....he shows Ace high...I show 9's and he is pissed off...lmao...Mad because I called 16 bucks with a 9. He whined about the bad call, I just smiled and said that I called it a good read...he wasn't impressed...lol I probably didn't play it very well, but it worked.
When I left the two cash tables that were going, I was up about 150 bucks..nothing special, but there was at least 1000 bucks more out there in play...I am looking forward to going back...lol

$50 rebuy in a 1/2 game?? if you are going to buy back in multi times, just put all your money on the table. I hope you pointed this out to your buddy.
But yeah, I didn't understand the logic either..guess he was just hoping to strike it big with a small buy in.
