Brag - Best Chop Ever
In vegas before Christmas playing in one of the terrible value tournaments offered at Planet Hollywood.
As the tournament progressed it became clear that while I was destined to lose every time I had the best hand, I was somehow destined never to bust out.
For instance I get it all in with Ak against 2 short stacked players both holding KQ. A Queen flops and they split a nice pot, leaving me with about 4 big blinds. I get those in the next hand with 54 and flop a boat against AA. Some version of this occurs over and over.
Eventually we get down to 4 players, with the tourney paying three. The blinds are huge in relation to the stacks, and I basically have no chips. Payouts are 370 for first, 230 for second, and 150 bucks for 3rd. These guys can money for sure by just sitting tight, and basically letting me blind out.
This doesn't happen though, and the guy to my left tries an all in steal pre flop against a tight player who ends of having aces.
Already happy to cash, I am elated when the big stack, with like 60% of the chips, offers a deal.
He offers 220 to myself and the other shorter stack, who has about 12 big blinds or so, and 300 for himself. I wait about two seconds for him to shake his head and realize how stupid he sounds before I jump up and shake his hand, letting him know what a gentlemen he is.
My Stack amounted to 2.5 big blinds, and that was the best chop ever.
