Ding Ding - Post Vegas Deals Here

With all the great deals currently available, I thought it might be useful to have a thread where you could post any Vegas deals (via Toronto/Buffalo) that you come across throughout the year. This would be a handy reference source for anyone planning a trip to Vegas in 2009.

I will start things off:

Dec. 14 - Dec 18 - Circus Circus - direct via Toronto on US Airways (no night flights) $350 US (inclusive) on Las Vegas Hotels - Las Vegas Shows - Las Vegas Entertainment | VEGAS.com

Flight 219 - Dec 14 (YYZ) 8:40am - arrive Vegas 10:38AM
Flight 581 - Dec 18 (LAS) 1:44pm - arrive Toronto 8:53PM

  • I don't know how long it will last, but I got the following hotel quotes from Expedia.ca (including taxes and fees):

    - Binion's, $13.28/night, including free Funbook worth $40-$75!
    - Stratosphere, $33.98/night.
    - Riviera, $37.06/night.
  • Great idea Jimbo! Can a mod make this a sticky please?

Done... also check fatwallet.com... tons of deals there.
  • you can thank Blondefish for noting a $13 hotel rate. On vegas.com right now, there are a bunch of hotels for under $15US per night for mid December. Hey Buddy, I beat your $13US rate :) Not sure what the quality is like or if the location sucks.

    Dec 15 - Dec 19:

    Buffalo Bills - $9.95/night
    Primm - $9.95/night
    Whiskey Petes - $13/night
Sams Town - $29/night (second night free) - so basically $15/night
    Palace Station - $20/night
    Rivera or Stratsophere - $26US/night

If you have some airmiles, you can go to Vegas for $40US for a four night trip!

You can even find prices for Feb now at under $30 US per night.
  • Tuscany Hotel - This may not be the cheapest but it is very nice with very large rooms. Walking distance from the strip, small poker room with $22.00 morning tournament to start your day. Hotels.com and i4vegas.com are good places to book hotels. I have used them both.
Terribles Hotel and Casino is also worth checking. The food value in the restaurant is amazing. (good with the emphasis on Value)
The deals are always best with a wholesalers such as Hotels.com or i4vegas.com. I have sat in the parking lot outside the Tuscany, using their free internet and booked a room through i4vegas and saved $50.00 on the room that night after checking at the desk.

For these other hotels, Rivera/Strats., are they really that far from the main strip? is it worth the savings for the hotel room to be a little distance from the main strip?

The Strat is FAAAAR and you will get mugged/stabbed/crabs walking between it and the Riviera. If you aren't planning on drinking you can get a rental car in Vegas for lie 18 bucks a day.

    Wow.

These are horrible dumps and far from everything.

Im not a baller but Jesus.

The IP is the absolute minimum for safety and comfort. And thats if I'm desparate. Save yourself all the hassels involved and book Ballys/Harrahs/Flamingo for a good price. If you're going to Vegas you might as well enjoy it.

I agree totally. Though you may only be in the room to sleep... sleep well. There are enough good bargains in the bigger hotel. Some wholesalers have the room size in SQ FT. I have stayed in the Riviera and even with a non smoking room I felt I was sleeping in a gym laundry hamper. Tuscany is 1 1/2 blocks from the strip low rise, and the rooms are over 600 sq ft. At the right time you can get a room there for $29.00. The same room will cost you from $100.00 to $300.00 on the strip. I repeat this only because it has become my favourite. I was in Vegas for over a year on business and have stayed in many places including 4 months in a condo. (Brought home live dandruff from one place.) Some bargains are more than you bargain for.
  • im staying at the imperial palace on the strip for the week for only 350 all inclusive flight and hotel for a week...strip or bust
  • The Tuscanny isnt as bad as the Strat or Riv, for both Safety/Cleanliness.
They have a fridge/mic so it is good if you don't want to eat the casino fast food the whole time.

Having walked from there and the Platinum (behind Ballys) you are close to everything including 3 minutes to the tram. However, I wouldnt want to be
staying west of the Strip at Rio. It is a LONG ass walk.

I only took cabs weekend nights as I wasn't worried about getting jacked as much as running into large mob of people partying or really intoxicated Mexicans.

but walking any where north of Circus Circus you start taking your life into your hands

not sure where they are getting the $99 each way on Air Canada from. If you follow the link to the AC website, prices are closer to $170 each way plus taxes. Not unless this is for the middle of December. Thanks for the links though.

if you are going to go to vegas don't be dumb and fly from canada the fee's here are retarded and unecessary. fly out of buffalo and save yourself
a crapload of money in the longrun.
  • It would be a better deal to stay home than stay in most of the places listed.

Call me cheap, but I'm all about price. I'm only in the room to s/s/s and sleep.

I've driven down to Vegas quite a few times (great drive down....shitty ride home), and if you have a vehicle, off strip locations are definately the best VFM.

Stayed at the Palace Station last spring for $30 / night. Room was newly reno'd, 42" plasma. Not the biggest room, but suited my needs good. A vehicle is a must for this hotel.

Stayed at the Riv, Sahara, Strat, Circus Circus, Imperial Palace, Royal....and a few places that are no more.

Was thinking about checking the Tuscany out sometime when I fly down, as you want to be closer to strip then.

Oh, and the hookers are less $$$ at the cheaper hotels.

  • Westjet Vacations March 8 (morn) to March 12 (evening) - all inclusive with direct flights:

    Imperial Palace - $426
    MGM Grand - $505
  • If you book at room at the Mirage properties (including MGM) for minimum of three nights, they are offering a free ticket to the KA or O Cirque shows (around a $100US value each). Considering a four night stay is around $490CDN right now, that's a great offer.
  • Or just get a room for $50 each and just pay for the tickets. (unless you're there over the weekend and that offer is still available)

    https://reservations.mgmmirage.com/bookingengine.aspx?pid=001&host=promo&code=SDM069
  • I object to this being called 'ding ding' I thought somebody had won something.(like 'ding ding ding')

I'm disappointed that it is just more nickel and diming. :(
  • Another decent offer, although the deal seems to specify that when you return (on the airfare voucher), you have to stay at one of the Harrah properties. Not sure if they will bump up the hotel cost to cover the airfare coupon. Anyone use this deal in the past?

Pulse of Vegas - Get Your Wings
  • Here's something I took advantage of a few times during my visit.

Hard Rock Casino Poker Room Daily Freeroll:

Play 1 hour in live cash game (usually only 1-2NL 100-300) between the hours of 05:00 & 11:00, and qualify for daily $1000 freeroll at 11:00. They will open another table if one isn't available.

Basically, I would show up at 09:45, play until 11, then play freeroll.

1500 chips for freeroll, or pay $10 for 2000 additional chips. 15 minute blinds, and they go up quick. Anywhere from 9 - 30 players, always pays top 4, usually takes about 3 hours to finish.

For those going for a short period of time, it might not work, but I was there 2 weeks, so I attended quite a few days during my visit.

PS: if you're there for a US long weekend, play cash game Sunday morning. Their pool party (REHAB) is rediculous. Huge lineups (1000+) of bikini clad super goddesses everywhere trying to get into the pool. Lineup goes right past the poker room. Wasn't quite as good the next Sunday.
  • There is a pretty decent deal on red tag right now. four nights, from Toronto with direct flights, staying at Circus Circus. Price per person including taxes is $435 each.

Red Tag Vacations - Shop, Compare and Payless
  • I usually end up going at the end of August and always seem to find a decent price for on the strip. I Always go Sunday(6am Flight) - Friday(10pm Flight...home Saturday).

Stayed at(Price is Flight and Hotel):

    Stratosphere x2 - $420
    Monte Carlo - $475
MGM - $700 (Parents paid for that but if I booked earlier would have been $550 and that was upgraded Suite)
    Venetian - $630

Planet Hollywood - $450 but that was in May for Sunday-Thursday but same flight times
  • For those who don't mind paying a little bit:

We offer suite rates for poker players who are interested in staying at either The Venetian or The Palazzo. These rates are $119 for Sunday through Thursday nights and $159 for Friday and Saturday nights, provided that you play an average of at least 6 hours of poker per night stayed.

In order to qualify for these rates, the first step is to book your suite through either The Venetian or The Palazzo (no third party booking such as Travelocity). Make sure that the suite you book is less than $400 for Sunday through Thursday nights, and $500 for Friday and Saturday nights, otherwise we will be unable to reduce your suite rate.

When you arrive, sign up for a player’s card either at Club Grazie (located in The Venetian or The Palazzo), or in the poker room itself. This card will be able to track how many hours you have played poker. In addition, the player’s card will earn you $1 to $1.50 in food comps per hour played. These food comps are redeemable at many different restaurants throughout The Venetian, including In-Suite dining, which can be served table side while you play.

Provided that you play an average of at least 6 hours of cash games per night stayed, you will qualify for the reduced player’s rate. Before you check out, stop by the poker room and speak to a supervisor. This supervisor will look at your account and ensure that you completed the requisite hours. Then, they will call the front desk and have your suite rate adjusted to the quoted rates, such that when you go to check out, those changes will be reflected.

Lastly, any upgrades you have on a suite will have to be paid in addition to the poker rate. In other words, if you booked your suite for $300 for a Tuesday night and you are offered a $50 upgrade charge, even though the total for your suite is still less than $400, we can only reduce the original booking to $119, and the $50 upgrade charge will have to be added on top of that, for a total of $169.
  • Great bump. This should get a sticky, or somehow be placed in a particular area with a place of prominence for additions.
