BEAT: This hand tilted me a little... (PLO)

Roueful has been playing like a big fish, but is also multi-tabling 4 tables with huge stacks on each, so I know he is somewhat decent (or lucky). On a previous hand a couple before, he called me down with 2 Page Ranking on a board with possible straights and flushes. Then this hand came:

Did he really chase down with the flush? Is it stupid to call this bet? Did he slow play his straight, then try to scare me into a fold with a flush? Were my prior bets too small? Where did this hand go wrong? Any thoughts?

  • I hate flopping a straight in PLOM...

It's a hand that never improves. Now, luckily, you also had a draw to a boat, but that never came to fruition.

As for this hand, I think that you played it pretty well, that starting hand isn't necessarily the best, but it's better than some of the ones I've seen you play ;)

As for the river, I likely fold it... best case scenario you're calling to a chop. There's no way a hand that you beat is raising you there. It hurts, but it fits his betting perfectly. Now since you DID call, remember what his starting / continuing hand range is... and rape him later.

  • I think you can be happy that he didn't bet the pot on the river.. atleast you have some kind of odds if he shows down some bizzarre flush.

I think you have to call.

Villain donked the river, not check raised. Also, it's for less than pot.
