Dodged a HUGE bullet!

Yes yes it's an easy fold, but I play pretty loose on the cash tables and like to see A LOT of flops with hands like these. Decided to fold one for a change and good thing I did. This deck was out to get me!

  • Good example of why playing hands like KJos can be dangerous... that would have been traumatizing if u had stayed in... :)
  • you flop the boat, and you don't want to play for stack?

too early in the afternoon, i'm still sleeping
  • I would have been SOOOOOOOOOOO dead with this hand! Yes, KJo is a notsogreat hand, but I wouldn't have folded it preflop without some very hard reads. I'm curious what made you think you needed to fold this hand preflop? You have decent position and average stack, and with nothing to flag you really either preflop or post flop to tell you you were behind THAT much.

Don't get me wrong, very nice fold, but admit it...you were tempted. I wouldn't have been able to muck preflop based on what I read in the HH.

You like KJo after a 4xBB raise from mid-position?
  • Exactly, too many people to act behind me, and I had just seen way too many people bust out with hands like QJ and KJ going up against AQ,KQ etc.

Just crazy though how all the jacks and kings were out.

Been known to...and get into a lot of trouble with it too. Its most likely my most troublesome hands. Don't know why, just can't seem to let it go easily.
  • KJo is one of the biggest dong in poker.

    Nice fold Chris.

One of the things that helps me fold hands I 'like' to play, is to think about what I'm likely to be beating.

If someone has raised in front of me, what are they likely to have....maybe a pocket pair or two big cards. With KJo....you're 50/50 with all pocket pairs 22-1010 (and you need to hit), you're well behind JJ-AA. Against two big cards, you're behind pretty much everything except k10, QJ, Q10, and J10.

    You're also behind any Ace.

KJ no goot. Now K8 that's another story, we all know that K8 is GOLD!
