quack quack quack quack
so i was in the neighbourhood last night and stopped into everyone's favourite poker 'pit' for some 5/5 action. typical loose table. small amount of aggression from a couple of crazy asians and a lot of calling stations.
i'd been there a couple of orbits and won a couple mediumish pots. on the button, there's a couple limps then a raise in LP to 20 (which is stupidly small unless you are a gambler), i look down at 22. i seriously consider mucking here since the raiser has less than 200 in his stack and there's a slight chance someone might re-raise but i haven't seen any re-raised pots yet and the others in the hand have stacks of 500-1000+. so i call. so do the one of the blinds and the limpers (or course). pot is around 100.
beautiful flop - A Q 2 rainbow. everyone checks to the raiser and he checks too. i figure someone has to have some kind of Ace (hopefully A2s or AQ) so i bet 55. called by a MP limper and the raiser. pot is now around 250. do they both have Aces or am i about to get coolered?
turn comes with a 7, matching the suit of the Ace. checked to me and i don't want someone to backdoor a flush on me somehow (not likely i know) or hit a stupid gutshot for cheap so i bet 140. limper has a visible reaction to the amount (wow that is a lot!) but limper calls and raiser folds. pot is over 500 now.
bingo on the river. i hit another deuce. now the limper leads out with a 200 bet. i'd seen him make a couple bad calls earlier but never when he was leading out. i highly doubted he had AA or QQ and i knew he didn't have a 2 (ldo) but maybe AQ or 77 and he was 'slowplaying' me. after a couple minutes i pushed for slightly less than 500. after not a lot of thought (given the odds any decent had would call i think) he said "it's only money" and called. he showed A9s. SHIP IT, BITCHES! it takes me a while to stack that ~1500 pot. but that is ok!
he told me later he put me on a strong Ace or underpair and since he had Aces up with a Q kicker, he thought he might be good for at least a chop. it was already late and i seriously considered leaving right then but i'd only been there for about an hour and how could i leave THIS game? turns out i like money so i stayed.
god i love poker.

hahaha, nh Greg
not a club, jimmy, the key phrase is everyone's favourite poker pit. (hint: read a few threads in the B&M section and 'favourite' is slang for 'suxors')
please to be sending me details on this other club, jimmy. although i'm finding rake to be a big determinant in my decision making these days. even the usual stable i go to on fridays it is getting hard to beat the rake with the amount of money on the table to be won.

Holy Cats!
I didn't notice this before...now I can't look away, and it is sort of ruining my day.
