i was wondering, am i a fish? because i wasn't smart enough to just avoid him(player A) entirely. i wasn't willing to admit that he could suck out on me so many times in a row. i must have lost around 10Gs to this guy before i decided to avoid him entirely.
No, just unlucky. Putting your money in with the best hand at the right times is +ev in the long run. Sucks that he ran so hot though.
It is good that you have finally identified the gaping hole in your game and you should do your best to avoid loose bad players whom you can read completely in future out of fear of bad short term variance.
Take this as a lesson learned, recognize that getting the money in while ahead is bad since "they will always suck out" and adjust accordingly.
Since you asked the question. Yes, you are a fish. Why would you try to avoid a player that you think you have a skill advantage over? If he sucks out on you, tell him how well he played and just wait for the opportunity to take all his chips. Are you assuming he sucked out on you or did you see his cards? I played at a stag one night and this guy was calling every hand ,making huge raises with nothing and then showing his bluffs. He took some of my money when he got lucky and hit his card. Obviously he was looking for attention so I complemented his 'terrific' play. I had all his chips within an hour. Its just a matter of time before his luck runs out and skill will override the luck factor.
how is this any less of a troll post than the folding AA pre-flop one? if this is a 10/20NL player investing 1k or more into the pot by the flop only to fold, then even more so...
props to jimmy for at least raising questions that generate some interesting discussion.
You want an expert panel to assess your fishiness based on very minimal information. This is tough, but I'm an expert player -- I'm qualified and can figure it out with just a smidgen of information.
Not to worry, you're an awesome player who can grind it out to make a profit. You're able to do this even when you get constantly sucked out on by the biggest fish on the table. So, with that fish out of the pond, you're stuck preying on the better players. Just think, you had to win the dough off of the good players. For sure, not a fish.
Please let me know where you play so I can avoid you. I really would prefer the fishier players.

Report back with the results, and all the best.
