Brag - I Am Soooooo Lucky!

I put him on a high PP with the massive reraise preflop, bad call on the flop, worse reraise on the turn, but fortunately luckboxed the river...

  • Third nut straight and a draw to the sixth nut flush, what could go wrong?
LOL...nh The ironic thing is he was betting to push out the flush draw.

What did you have him on after his turn aggression? Pocket aces, set of queens, higher flush draw??

I had him on Aces or Queens potentially with the club draw. This guy had been playing pretty aggressive and kept popping every pot up that I had raised so I probably didn't give him enough credit. Fortunately I sucked my way out of it, but I know my play was really awful there. I was a little tilted after loosing a few big hands before that and was already down $240 on the table. It was so agressive that I figured if I could catch my straight on the turn it would be the best hand.... boy was I wrong.

Your big decision was to get out on his turn bet or go all the way (don't see an in between here). But that's why lagtards get paid off, you can put this guy on three different types of hands you beat even without the nut straight.

I don't play a ton of Omaha but here is my overall analysis. Pf, the call of his reraise is fairly loose but you are four handed and this guy is aggro. I think the flop is your first big decision point. Your draw is good but not great. I haven't added it up but I assume his bet on the flop is a pot bet. At this point, I think it is safe to assume that you face another pot bet on the turn. I might have let this go on the flop. You called and hit your straight although unfortunately it was the low end of it (i.e. a 4 would have been much better). However, you called that flop hoping to hit that hand so now I figure you have to go all the way and hope he is on AA, QQ or a flush draw.

However, you are the only one who can assess the psychological component of this. Did the guy ease up on the aggression after this or go on tilt?

He eased up after that, but I had to run shortly after and was only there for about 15 mins more.

You must be to still be playing omaha at this level. Every time you post an omaha hand history it makes me call myself crazy for not playing this game online at your level.

    Here's your first mistake...

Yes, this was one of my looser plays... today my game was really off, but fortunately I got lucky. But I definitely recommend playing these games... some of the plays I see are unbelievable. People calling down the river with a low pair on a board with str8/flush draws. It can be pretty sick.

I know my play here was pretty sick though and its probably one of the worst beats I have ever laid on someone.

Most of his big reraises before this had been with a high PP which is why I made that assumption. 4 handed the game gets a little looser though.
