Woot!!!! Bad Beat 10k For Me!!

I arrived earlier than usuala the b n' m casino I normally play 1-2 at, so I decided to grab a beer and sit in on the 3-6 limti game which was just getting started and going up short handed, 6 players ready to go.

Imagine my suprise when I look down at 55 in the BB,

Wow only 3 callers and no raise, easy to see a flop

Flop 599 and a guy bets into it! easy call hell I even raise it and he re-raises me!

turn 9.....and he's still betting, and now I'm telling the other players they're gonna laugh when they see my cards.

river is BAAZZUUMP a 5!!!

of course now I HAVE to bet, guy raises me again and BOOM he has a90 !!

Quads over Quads= BAD BEAT !! 10K WOOT!! the table is clapping and so am I!!

this just happened to me on tuesday I was so stunned by it I just had to share !

cheers

  • Which casino was this? Most bad beat jackpots I've seen require both hands to have pocket pairs to qualify as quads. For example, at Seneca Casino, this hand would not qualify for the jackpot.

  • BAaCARAT casino edmonton ab,

and no, as long as the kicker plays, quads over quads is a bad beat!

Yeah, that goes triple for any place I've ever played as well.

Even BBC's past bad beat win with KK against 1010 on a flop of AAA (I think he said in Illinois, maybe Indiana) wouldn't fly in a lot of places, although some are fine with it. Tulalip in Washington I believe allows it.

I've played in quite a few joints from Ontario, British Columbia, Washington State, and Michigan, and not one of the casino's I've been in would have accepted what you described.

    Challenge.

    whatever.. you contemplate it..

    I"LL ENJOY THE 10K
  • very nice! was that the first hand of the evening? did you still play any 1/2 afterwards or did you call it a night?
  • About the 12th hand or so, and no i was buzzing to much to play any 1-2 :)
  • Wow! Congrats Bleemo!

I wonder if the rule is just that both cards have to play. With A-9 his kicker was part of the hand.
  • Most bad beats are both cards play -- kicker can play. Most high hands you need to have a ppair, etc.

    touche.

Walts friend might just be right there.
  • Congrats. I know that at Seneca Casino, the BBJ rule is "Must have a pocket pair to qualify for four of a kind." In addition, the pot must have a minimum of $20.00 in it, not including the rake, i.e., $24 or more. So the BBJ fee should not be taken out if the total pot is $23 or less, but a few Seneca dealers and most players don't know this.

When would a quads over quads situation ever not have more than $20 in it? I had that happen once and you'd better believe I lost my whole stack. :p
  • Congratulations by the way, my quads over quads was at a home game so I got nothing but a funny story out of it. 10K is pretty sweet.
  • bleemo, i play in edmonton and stalbert....u from round here?
  • Geez....gotta love that!
