  • Ching Hill is Team 6, in case there's any confusion.

Good luck Saturday to ALL teams and players. Can't wait to see you all again. Going to be a great day!!
  • looking forward to this... don't forget cash game at my sister's house (Ariss) afterward for those with courage in their hearts...and money in their wallets
  • Don't forget to bring some Fivers for Flipaments!
  • One suggestion (although it may be too late) but may you should see about setting the HU matches now.

That way if two players bust earlier in the Stud or Limit rounds and have to play each other HU they can get the game out of the way instead of having 20 plus players waiting around during the NL round waiting for the person they are playing to finish or for cards/chips to become available.

Also this would keep the day moving along at a decent rate because if the Stud and Limit games go long (which they have been known to have) people can get their HU matches done instead of waiting around for the games to finish before moving on the next game.
  • PLO 3: Bus(6) - Tim(1) - Happy(9) - Dave(2) - Vicki(10) - Tyson(8 ) - BBC(3) - Q9(5) - Kristy(4) - Wolff(7)

This is like an all-star table.

Edit: Well aside from BusDriver, Q9 and Wolfie that is.

The captains have discussed this, and it was decided that the best way to do the HU games was during the NL game at their table. That way they can make the most of the HU points once they get a better view of the team standings at that point. It really is the much preferred way.

This only slows the over all day down, they only reason why people don't want to do this before the day is one team thinks that they can set the HU matches in the favor.

At least try and set the match’s way earlier instead of have a bunch of people walking around trying to figure out who they are playing and who that person is.

The end of the day is people waiting for the person they are playing HU to finish their match or waiting for chips and cards to come available.

Most of us have played against each other at different events so we have some idea on how people play.

How the hell can it be an allstar PLO table without Mark & I at it and with you on it? :)

This is a tough one. The match ups when it comes down the stretch are always a good/interesting part of the day and does factor into the results (that is probably open to debate.)

Last time out there were 2 issues:

    1) we had an issue of resources (cards) which I bought 12 decks from a casino to alliviate some of that issue.
    2) We always seem to have a match up or two that waits to increase the drama of the event. Although I do like this myself I think we will push for everyone to match up and play ASAP after they bust out of their NL game. This will hopefully get people that have to travel a long way on the road a bit quicker.

In the end it has always been a long day and we have tried (and in a lot of cases suceeded) in speeding things up as much as possible.

    SEE EVERYONE TOMORROW

I'm thinking 3 and I want the under.

Second that, I don't like the idea of playing the HU matches any earlier in the day. I think the biggest problem we have had in previous events (in regards to the HU part) is having people delay their match until the very end when both players were out on NL early.

Chris, if you think a team can't use the HU portion to drastically improve their standing, look at the last event. We wemt from basically last to 3 points short of 3rd in the HU part. As far as placing players, I think this HU is the section that has the biggest impact on your results. Matching up players against an 7-10 person table doesn't have anywhere near as much impact as placing somebody in a 1-1 match up.

I will never vote for doing the HU placements before the tourney, and I don't think there is an earlier point in the tourney that is even feasible to do this. We all know some people end up having virtually no dinner break, and we would never get the captains together during the event for long enough to fill out the match list if it wasn't for the captains NL table.

Personally if we're near the top, I will always want my players who are on their game playing against the other top teams HU, and you will never know that before the event starts.

Would now be the right time to tell everybody we brought you in just for the smack talk and flipaments? ;)
  • I think to get the headsup done faster we just need more decks of cards and maybe more chips. I'm sure a couple people can help us out with this ;)

Yeah that'll help too, I know Sandro has asked all the captains to bring cards and we'll have more chips than last time, but if anybody has any cheapo decks they might be good for the HU too. I'll dig through my crap here and try to find some to bring.
  • Plan on bringing 2 sets (4 decks) with me this time to help out as well. With the cards Sandro is bringing, and if the captains can bring a couple decks each, there should be enough cards.
  • I can bring cards no problems..... GL everyone and see you tomorrow.....1 more sleep.

yes, but in a few months, I'll be able to revise history to record that I just held the lead from start to finish.. all the minor details involving me making backdoor flushes will be forgotten ;-)
