Brag- Doubled up off of Annette 15

To those of you in her bankroll region it may not be that big a deal, but for me it was pretty thrilling.

I think I played it right, she had been raising my BB every time, this time I fought back. I was going to push on the flop, but I thought I might be in trouble if she called. When the J hit the turn I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best.

  • Nice work! She's a maniac... I watched her take down that big tourney last weekend.
  • "Nice work!", really, am I missing something? I mean, I'm happy the hand worked out you QueenNine, but how could you have played it right? A bad call preflop followed by a worse call on the flop. I can understand had you shoved if she checked or made a standard c-bet post flop, but to call off all your chips with just a str8 draw???

I'm trying to improve my game, but these hands confuse me. Someone please help me understand.

I definitely would not try to learn from this hand... it was a bad pre-flop call, followed by a questionable call on the flop - QueenNine definitely luckboxed that Jack on the turn. It looks like it started off as a "battle of the blinds", but quickly escalated.

If Annette_15 is the maniac hinted at by other posters, then you've got insane implied odds to stack her out if you hit anything and have the balls to stand up to her aggression.

On the flop, he's probably still drawing live to the J and 5 and the OESD. She's got 5K behind and he's looking at 13:1. Risky, but not the worst of the worst*

Also not exactly the best of the best, but sometimes you have to dance against maniacs or risk being run over.
  • She definitely is maniacally aggressive, and like I said in the OP she had raised my BB every single time and got me to fold. This time I had made up my mind beforehand that I was going to call with any 2 if she raised me again.

I was relatively short stacked, and played short stack poker IMO. I hit a draw on the flop, and top pair on the turn, what better time to get it all in?
  • Oops!, I read the hand history wrong. I thought you called off your chips before hitting the J on the turn. My bad. Nice hand.
  • that is so... baller... Taking on the best in the world!
  • It was a great call. nice to see her drawing almost dead on the turn!
  • Would have been a better play to push the flop...please play better at the RC:)
