  • Hi AJ,

    Sign me up!!

BTW - The final table would need to be at 8 not 10 due to the stud games being involved.

    Al
  • Sign me up A.J. I will need directions.
  • Chris and I are in.

    Al

Keep forgetting Stud is an 8 player game. I've changed the OP.

I'll send address and directions to Al and WaltsFriend in a day or two.
  • Sign me up for now...
  • Sign me up please. Any Kitchener-Waterloo types want to supply me with a ride?
  • I would definitely be interested in carpooling.
  • Grrrr....

I've now been informed that my in-laws are coming over that night, so I have to bow out of the tourney.

    Al
  • Sorry to hear about that Al...you're going to be missed.

Hoping for a few more players to sign up soon. Would prefer to run two tables if possible, so plenty of room left.

E-mail the Ching Hill guys, many of them don't check the forums that often and may be interested

I meant to do that already, forgot, thanks for the reminder. By the looks of it, we may be losing that other site anyway...have to pay for it soon, and I don't want to do that necessarily.
  • STR82ACE, I have always wanted to play at Ching Hill on a non-Thursday, but unfortunately, I do not know how to play Razz, Stud, Stud 8 or Omaha 8. :-[
Any possibility of hosting a satellite in the future?

  • The idea I'm tossing around is having a different game on a monthly basis hosted at my place. HORSE this time, OMAHA next, maybe STUD after that...but I have no problem hosting the odd satellite for a bigger game at all either. Let me know what you have in mind Buddy, and I'll work it into the plan.
  • hiya AJ

I think JOe and I are gonna be able to come to this tourney.. Can you put us down for now. And closer to the date We will let you know.. Hopefully Joe is not working that night and home early enough to come play.. See you soon I hope... :)
  • The only decent casino tournaments I know for the next 11 months are:

    - Great Blue Heron Casino's $240-$540 rebuy, November 14, Skill Level 4: any satellite for this will have to be held soon, as it will probably sell out by next week.
    - GBH $2,100 T.O.C. freezeout, December 10-11, Skill Level 6.
    - Casino Windsor's $500 monthly tournament, Skill Level 5.

Casino Brantford will probably have the best-value casino tournaments again (which could include Omaha!), but they don't know the dates yet. Most club tournaments are crapshoots, but some of the higher buy-in ones offers a decent amout of poker play, including a monthly $200 Skill Level 6 tournament in Toronto.

Wouldn't make sense to hold a satellite for this event simply because its a rebuy unless you set the stone to a $540 buy-in which includes entry + admin fee ($240), one re-buy ($100) and one add-on ($200). The rebuy would have to be bought right at the beginning before the cards are in the air...this would bump your starting stack to 3000 instead of 2000. At the end of the first hour, another 2000 in chips for a $200 add-on. Many players there have fat pockets, so the rebuys definately boosts the prize pool...ask Rob (Dead Money)...he'll concur.
  • This upcoming game is strictly HORSE with top 3 paid out, so I think the discussion on holding a satellite can wait for abit...but it is a good idea, and I'll find something next time.

I'm more interested right now in getting more players signed up for this game.

    oops sorry big guy!
  • ok, I'm sure I can go- now time to throw down the gauntlet.

Buddy you are forgetting that this is a 'limit' series..which means that it requires absolutely no skill.. just come and play like an absolute wus. Ask yourself what the bold, fearless or correct play is and then do the opposite- limit recipe for absolute success. If you could learn to smoke pole too, it is a fairly powerful weapon for playing this.

    Ship your $50's kids.

(I think a: there should be pl horse. b: I've just made sure that I'm first one out. c: that I should probably carpool)

AJ, if you'll change your avatar, I'll help you.

  • Ummmmm somebody please make sure Kristy gets in the car with them driving? Just to make sure she doesn't end up going to Windsor or someplace??
    ;)

I'll do just that tonight!! Thanks /g2!!
  • Game ends with around 20-30BB (big bets) in play
    5000 starting stack * 16 donks = 80,000 cookies
=> game ends at BB ~4,000

    20 min levels
    6pm to midnight = 6 hours
=> game ends around 18th level

Levels 19+ are designed to be killer levels should the game run late.

Here ya go. Best of luck :)

    /g2
  • Looked over /g2's schedule and prefer it to the WSOP one, so we'll use it.

    Thanks for your help /g2!
  • I don't mind carpooling with any of the players from K/W, but I will be staying in TO until Sunday so I guess you'll need someone else to carpool with for the way back :D
  • A little more than a week left to register for this game. We have 9 now, so it will be a GO!!! I can hold up to 16 players, two tables, be great to get at least 12 to show up and play.

If you're interested, PM me or sign up here. Seems that there will be transportation available for carpooling the KW players as well, so I would like to see more of that crowd take up the challenge.

Like Kristy said, it's all limit, so 'no skill' necessary (her words). ;)

  • I'm Iterested. Sounds like fun. Sign me up.
I'm an Orangeville Home Poker Tour regular and I know the Elliotts from that league. Contact me with details about the location please.
  • You're IN Monk...you must know Steve as well...he's also a member of the FAMOUS CHING HILL POKER LEAGUE...You're more than welcome to join us on our regular Thursday night games as well, Steve can set up carpooling I'm sure.

I'll send you the address and directions when I get home tonight.

Monk....email me for directions....since you're new to the forum I can't send you a private msg.
