PNL thank you and sorry to see you go

I'd like to thank all of the people who were involved with PNL for running and participating in a great series of events. I mean the players as well as the hosts. I learned and grew in my game along with many of you.
I believe in the time that PNL was really live I only saw two regular players who's game didn't seem to grow. Well, one and one that seems to have an evil twin. So here's to all the regular players without whom the show would have been nothing but a rehash of rules for beginners everynight. Thank you all!
List includes but is not exclusive to (PhilIvey, Eyeluvtina, Kiaora_Bro, Patchy(sorry don't remember the number was it 1973?), Dcsct, there are many many more who helped me by growing in their game on the show.
I'd also like to thank, Tina, Devo, Johnny T, Lou, and Audrey for their comments and suggestions. I also noticed that the players weren't the only ones to improve their games. Johnny's comments showed a definite loosetening of his starting hand requirements as the show progressed ( I notice patterns ;) ). I only hope that the show can be started up again. Please know that the audience is still out there.
Hope to see you all back on the show sometime in the near future. I hope to even join in the action this next round if and when it comes.

  • whoa

anothey philivey fan, i love all my fans, hope to see you with us regulars if and when the show comes back, there were alot of good people that played and while we gave each other a hard time it was all in fun not like some tables you play at, thats what poker is all about.

I miss alot of the regulars even though i still play and keep in contact with a few.

  • (Anyone else get the feeling that philliivey and Bigbearaaa are one and the same? Weird...)
  • there is only one philliivey

    often imitated never duplicated baby
  • First I would like to say that I take offense to what was said. I also would like to know if bigbearaa or whatever the name was ( ya arny it might be phil) is active on any tables. Please let me know what site. Personally I still visit the same tables pnl was on. So i would love to see ya there. If your gonna slap me in the face you atleast owe me a game.
Ohh and P.S the show was over last Christmas, you've been watching re-runs for 6 months.

Phil i got something for you and it isnt my chips you donkey
Why wont you sit at our tables. You know were we are, and you show up to make comments all the time. Why not play. Oh yes thats right cuz, i'll kick your ass.
  • I sure didn't mean to offend anyone. I don't even recall mentioning anyone in particular in a bad light. hm, no, no names mentioned in relation to who was playing badly, or strangely.
No, Philivey and I are not the same person. Hm, I always knew I was a bit off at times but they'd be sending out the boys in the white coats if I started answering my own posts. ;)
I learned a lot from all of the play that was shown on PNL. The good, the bad and the sometimes ugly and I sure don't remember anyone always playing an inspired game. I do remember that there was always more to learn.
I have just been catching up. Gave up poker for awhile. Was just taking way too many bad beats so decided for a while to give it a rest, do some more reading to see if I could sharpen my own game.
I'd love to play some or all of you at some time and not necessarilly because I think I'm better, I look at it as mostly a challenge. Every table is different unless you have all the same players and even then people have good and bad nights both in how they play and what cards they get.
  • |If the sites used for the show are still running why did they cancel the show?
Seems more than a bit odd.
  • Ok, maybe you didnt mean anything by it. If thats the case I appologize. I'm not so petty that I cant say sorry if i'm wrong. Here is where I may have taken a wrong turn.

"I only saw two regular players who's game didn't seem to grow. Well, one and one that seems to have an evil twin."

Its general knowledge amongst pnl'ers as to what that means. Its sorta a running joke. You all know what I mean so no need to go further.

The site is still up because pnl UK was only taken off the air about 2 months ago. There is talk of it being brought back, (UK only so far). The tables have been left active for us because of the strong group we have in the UK. Also because of the relationship with some of the presenters in the UK. For those who are not in the know. The site's are prima poker sites. I would recommend the Purple Lounge site. Its a home site of Michelle Oorp a UK presenter. She is always helpful and has the players best interest in mind. See you on the tables or at my home game.

  • I still check the tables from time to time, ( I still miss PNL!) but never run into any Canadian players. For the most part the TV tables are empty....what if we posted a date on the forum to have an online reunion game?

Sure anytime you want. I play most mornings and afternoons. The UK players are 5 hours ahead of us in Toronto. So I play earlier than most do. If you post it they will play.
