Are these matches still going on Tonight? At Bristol?
Right now, yes, they are running. However, Tye is "on call" tonight so Tye and I may need to reschedule at the last minute (which means Jenn/Ryan will either reschedule or play at our place).
Our game has ended at the buzzer to raise the blinds. We endured forty minutes of action; some fast, some slow.
The first hand of the match set the tone. After some early raising ~500 chips; the board was all low cards, rainbow. Checked. Fourth street brought a queen and a large bet (1000) chips. The river was an 8 and the betting continued for another 1000 chips. We flipped and showed:
Perry D - Qd 10d
Fassman - Q 9
From here on out, chips exchanged for the next 40 minutes with Will getting back to approx 1800. Last hand I raised all in and will called.
My made pair of Jacks beat his made pair of nines.
Thanks for the game Will, good luck the rest of the Way.
I'll meet you there at 730 on Tuesday night. Maybe Shannon and Chris could be there too to play the next round right away? this will save Brad another trip and I am leaving for holidays the next week?
Brad, please okay
Can somebody contact Shannon and "the bus"? I am guessing 830 - 900?
Fassman and I just finished our match. Some pretty benign poker for quite some time till this hand: Preflop raise and re raise....flop AK8 (3rd card means nothing) I made a bet and Fassman called. Turn 3....bet,call. River 3 bet raise reraise call. My A-3 rivered his AK for about 3 thousand chips or so. After that it was more ABC poker till the 100-200 level when I turned a straight with Q-9 and unfortunately that made Fassman's 2 pair which got him all in. River didn't help and that was it. Well played Fassman. I look forward to my next match in the lowered expectations bracket!
Thanks for the updates, everyone! Online brackets are now up to date and Bristol Street will be open any time after 7pm tonight (Tuesday) for matches to take place.
Sorry Joe,
I've got a double header softball match tonight.
I am available to play this Thursday.
I live near KCI and Central Fresh Market.
Would you like to play at my place, say ~6:30pm?
Just finished my match with Al is was a great game :0)
First time Al pushes all in (on the turn) i call with my trip 8 to his aces he flips his cards and said great need an ace and the river was an ace (great dealing beanie :P )
Last hand:
Jenn's the dealer and calls Al checks
Flop is 3 4 Q
Jenn bets 400 Al calls
Turn 5 Jenn bets 1000 Al pushes All in for 900 more
jenn calls
River is 9
Al flips A6 Jenn flips 8 4
Finshed with 11:08 in the 75/150 level
"Aiki65" d. "Kristy_Sea"
"folded" d. "TwoThree"
"the bus" d. "folded
"Zithal" d. "Ranger"
A fun match with Ranger who complained early on that he wasn't getting cards. A WSOP broadcast I watched a day earlier was berating a player for doing this as it means you can push him off hands easily. So, I played agressively and continually chipped away at Ranger's stack. After the first hand, I didn't give up the lead. Final hand.
Blinds are 75-150, I'm on the button with 52o. I raise to 400, and Mike pushes in for about 1,300 more. I should have raised to 500 to price myself in, but 1.6-1 and a chance at victory was close enough so I call. He turns over AKo and I'm live!
First card off is a 5, followed by a 3 and a 4. Turn blanks, and the river is Mike's A, which gives me the straight and the win.
The folded/twothree match was great, but not for the reasons we all would have thought. It was the "new" folded v. the "new" TwoThree and the match ended with 1 minute to go before the blinds were capped. I'll let them report on it.
