  • This is the same day as the CHPC final. :(
  • Just for fun I calculated the ole patience factors and skill levels for this WSOP 2006 structure... it's an amazing 17.66 patience factor and a very impressive skill level of 6. It will take 4.2 hours to be blinded off. It's no wonder hellmuth never shows up for the first couple hours, he'd still have tons of chips. (although that doesn't make it any less stupid of a move). :P

We are in for a marathon. :D Good thing you are starting it at noon.

Oh and for those interested... the 2007 structure favours the skilled player slightly less; but was probably necessary to avoid a 2 week long Main Event.

It's a patience factor of 9 and a skill level of 5. (Only 3 hours until you are blinded off).
  • okay Joe,

add me, David B., and Salvo.

    Ricky M. (Tent)
  • list is now up to date with a little over a week to go. There's a few regulars that haven't responded yet so I think we should have 3 tables of 8 to go.
  • Hey Joe,

    Ricky M is now confirmed.

    Sounds good Joe. Can't wait.

    How many is your max?
  • Hey Joe

Cam is having a birthday party for his daughter that day so he can't make it but I will still there. Can you also reserve a spot for a friend. I will let you know for sure before the week is out.

    Prophet 22
  • what is the max you can have and where are you located????
  • We can hold 4 tables of 8 (32max). The location is in Bradford, please pm me or e mail me if you need an exact location. crowncasino@winning.com is the e mail.
  • We are at 19 with one week to go. Several regular players haven't confirmed yet. If your interested please let me know.
  • If anyone needs directions please let me know. I think everyone who didn't have them now should.
  • CanadaDave, are you sure about those numbers? All the WPT and WSOP tournaments I have looked at have the highest Skill Level of 6 and very high Patience Factors. It would be shocking if the 2007 WSOP $10,000 multi-day Main Event would have a lower Skill Level than 6. That would make it the same Skill Level as that $60 Georgetown Friday night tournament we played in!

Well I just pumped them into my trusty excel sheet based on Joe's post earlier. I'll check the wsop site.

OK Recalculated using numbers from the official site.. and blind levels of 60 minutes (which I may have put at 30 before... can't remember)... and here are the numbers....

Patience Factor of 22.25 and a skill level of 6. You can play 4 hours and 43 minutes before you are blinded off.

LOL I just noticed their last blind leve is listed at
    ante BB -SB
    $1,000,000 $3,000,000-$6,000,000

Not likely it gets there though. :P
  • [QUOTE= That would make it the same Skill Level as that $60 Georgetown Friday night tournament we played in![/QUOTE]

I would have to disagree with the skill level:

    25-50
    50-100
    100-200
    200-400
    300-400
    400-500
then this is what shocked me:
    700-1400
    and then again:
    1000-2000

Pretty aggressive jump and at the time there were still 4 tables running.
  • The one thing about this years WSOP I didn't catch first time through is they are starting you off with 20,000 chips for the ME rather than 10,000. I haven't done the Patience Calculator (since in that kind of tourney I think it's irrellevant). With 8000 people going to post your going to have to get very lucky to win it no matter how skillful you are.
  • What are we looking at here Joe? About 20 or less players? Anyhow, see y'all tomorrow.
  • Hey Joe can you send me your address I think I might come up after my daughters birthday but that doen't end till 2:00 by the time I get there it will be around 3:00. Or you can get Romer to call me he has my number.

    Thanks Cameron
  • Hey Joe, It'll just be me.. couldn't convince the girlfriend to come out. Maybe next time she'll tag along.

See ya tomorrow! (well today I guess... )
  • Cam, remember it starts at noon. I will blind you in if I know your coming. With 30 minute blinds I'd think you'd be good.

Romer it looks like 20 people. I have a few that said they may show up that aren't on the list and usually a couple who say they are coming don't end up showing up.
  • Joe I won't get there till around 3:30 or so, I don't know if it is worth it for me to play in the tourny, how many chip do you forsee me having after 3-4 hours bieng blinded out. Anyways I will stop by to play sit n gos or cash game, if that is ok with you and Amiee.

    Cameron
  • That is fine Cam come for some sng's or cash games.
  • Thanks for hosting Joe and Aimee...finally nice to meet and play with you guys. The 30 minute blind structure was awesome and the food was fantastic!

The sit n go's were fun too especially Brad's cards hitting everthing and Crystal who played NO FEAR sucking out with rags!!
  • I'm glad you enjoyed yourself Romer. Congrats to Aimee who took down todays tourney. I'm not sure how CanadaDave didn't win after building an impressive chip lead early. I'll post full results tomorrow as the SNG's that were going have just broken up.
  • Here is the money winners: We had 13 start and agreed to pay top 3. Tournament Director for some reason didn't save the tourney so while I know who the top 3 were after that I don't recall.

    Aimee $320
    CanadaDave $200
    KRT $130

The tournament finished a lot earlier than expected and next years if the turnout stays at 2 tables I may go to 45 minute blinds. Thanks to all who came out, and special thanks to Crystal for cooking up the burgers, dogs and sausages and getting food out and cleaning up.

Also thanks to Ricky and Romer who dealt for a while helping to keep things moving.

I"m not sure how many people got eliminated by Canada Dave as he was on a roll for quite some time. He was a one man wrecking machine. I thought he was going to steam roll right through the field. However luck/fate was not on his side and he and Aimee were almost evenly stacked by the time they were heads up. I think he had a 6K or so lead at that point.

I think Aimee's experience in the Bristol Heads up championship paid off as she slowly chipped away at Dave until she had a slight chip lead. They got into a big blow up hand in which she took him out. I didn't see the hand as I was involved in a side game so I'll let them post. Congrats to all the money finishers and thanks to all who came out.
