A Different QQ Question

QQ can be a really though hand to play sometimes; it's very strong preflop but still so vulnerable post; comments on all streets please (though the flop will be most relevant).

Home game: 1/1NL - 5 players
Villain is LAG, borderline Maniac; capable of firing three shots on all streets with nada. He's got the classic weak is strong/strong is weak tell in both his posture and betting style; though there have been some (I believe unintentional) variations.

Background: 5 hands earlier I am in the SB with 88; cutoff raises to $4, I call, Villain in BB calls; flop comes A92 rainbow; checked to villain who bets $25 (just under his entire stack). Huge overbet, does not look confortable, and I almost pushed with my read, but could not pull the trigger (he showed his 106s bluff after I folded).

Back to the hand in question:

I'm in the SB with :qc:qd, one limp from cutoff, I raise to $6, Villain in BB min-re-raises to $12; folded to me, I call. -- The min raise means nothing to me; he's capable of doing this with almost any hand. I normally re-raise this hand to see where I am at but decide to change things up and simply flat call.

Pot: $25

Flop: :kd:8d:8s

I check, Villain bets $10. -- Hmm this is a very weak bet; especially for a hand like say AA or AK; could be an 8 or nothing at all, perhaps a flush draw. I have no idea where I am at in this hand.

I decide to simply flat call to a) represent say KK or A8 and b) avoid a raise re-raise bluff which he is capable of and I won't be able to call.

Pot: $45

Turn: :qs

I check, Villain bets $40 -- Now I firmly believe he is either bluffing, or has a scared AA/AK/Axs. I hold the 3rd nuts and again simply flat call (trapping now).

Pot: $125

River: :ad

I check, Villain pushes for $120 -- I have $110 in front of me. Uhg, I never raised so I really don't know where I'm at. against a TAG I have to seriously consider letting this hand go; but against this player I don't think that is an option.

I call (I actually insta-call because of how crazy he is) and sure enough he shows: :ac:3c :D

Ship it!

Again, comments on all streets welcomed. I'm also interested to see how people play this against a TAG (no change in betting patterns).

Thanks in advance!

  • Preflop:
I might have re reraised here, got to $30. If he has a hand or not, he's going to call, and if he's going to outdraw you, make him pay for it.

    Flop:

Not a great flop here for you at all, but I might have entered with a bet of just about 2/3 pot.

    Turn:
    YOU CAUGHT IT!!
Slow play here. I plan to check/raise here HUGE! You know he's going to bet into you, and you have a HUGE hand. Flat calling here was a mistake. I would have pumped it up to $120 or more. Again, make him pay.

    River:
Beautiful card!! Hope to hell he hit a straight or flush. I may have entered a small bet here, but check/raising is a good move too. With his bet, I would have broken both arms to call his allin or to raise him allin.

He had crap, you took down a very nice pot. Say "nice hand, sir" as you're scoping your pot up. You used his aggressive nature to take a nice pot from him, but could it have been more? Maybe not, if he had you on any kind of hand at all, he might have folded. Once he hit the Ace on the Turn though, he was going to see the end of the hand.
