Pet peeves

OK, I'll start the ball rolling as we all know how much poker players love to bitch about things (and no this won't be a bad beat story either).

My single most annoying B&M pet peeve is the old nit that asks for a deck change or a wash, simply because he can't play poker and is on tilt. Last time I went, some old guy had went to go take a piss and came back maybe 2 hands dealt after a deck change. Of course he proceeds to play a donktacular pot and loses of course and now asks for ANOTHER deck change. And worse, the dealer goes for it. It's bad enough that you only get to play maybe 30 hands/hr at the casino at a quick table, let alone these nits that drag it down to like 20. Incidently, if you were to ask this in a session fee based game, I'd imagine the other players are entitled to kick you in the balls... /* end rant */

B&M Pet Peeve #1: Discussions of outs and pot odds and other crap while I'm at the table. All it does it signal the poor players that you know something about the game. They either correctly tighten up or they correctly leave. -EV. This peeve excludes people who talk about outs but have no idea what the hell they are talking about.

Ah, those guys. The "professors" that think they know something and love hearing themselves talk. Those guys are pure entertainment. It's the idiots that go out of their way to correct them that annoy me.

Mine has to be when dealers get into personal talk about their spouse kids etc and lose focus on the game. Just the shut the fuck up and deal.

Ahh the kids chat... like fingernails on a chalkboard.Â If I wanted to listen to you Mr./Ms. Dealer talk about your kid and his/her recent trip to the emergency room, I'd ask.Â I'm not asking.Â And to the fellow in Seat 4 who brought up the topic... prepare to defend your blind.Â :D

I have so many minor things that peeve me off about B&M poker... like the guy who is sitting one to the left or right of you and decides to be your best friend for the session and then feels hurt when you check-raise him on the river... or the waitress who can remember to bring all other 32 drink requests to the room but forgets yours AGAIN... or the ...

I hate all the "Nice Hand" "Ohhhhh NIIIICE Hand" "HAHAHAHAAHAHA Nice Hand" comments when the hands were crap and they sucked out the win. If it is genuinely a Nice Hand, then by all means go ahead and say it, but when 95 offsuit is played in a capped preflop hand and happens to hit 2 pair on the river, that is NOT a nice hand, that is a suckout, nothing more.

My biggest pet peeve is when you waiting for a table you see a bunch of people leave at the limit your going to play and the suits make no effort to fill those seats. It's bad enough at Rama you can't call ahead. Even when playing I've seen a vacant seat sit for 20 minutes when you know there's a 2 hr waiting list. Makes no sense to me.

I would say that is my number one pet peeve as well.....I can see saying nice hand in a sarcastic way but people say it and mean it...

The other is the â€œGodâ€™s Gift to Pokerâ€ player. The one that is talking about how they player the higher limitâ€™s, are only at the table waiting for a spot in the â€œbiggerâ€ game and then plays very badly and singles out players for their plays.

You know the type that says â€œWhy didnâ€™t you fold your A-K on the end when the board pairedâ€¦.werenâ€™t you afraid I made tripsâ€ After showing their Ace-Rag when they made one bet on the end to try and scare you away with it after the pot is huge.

Casino Niagara takes this concept and turns it into an art form.. I've been at tables with empty seats for 40 minutes and a 30 person list.

My worst pet peeve is when im holding top pair and raise and someone with bottom pair calls and hits 2 pairs on the river and someone says "NICE CALL", makes me wanna go strangle the guy.

But it WAS a nice call.

As long as everyone at the table believes it was a nice call, then you should encourage it. Just stop tilting and jump on the nice call bandwagon.

Really? You have the wrong mentality for playing poker then. These are players you want in the game.

Twits that say "I raise" when it's checked to them or "Reraise!" when they mean "Raise". Actually it doesn't bother me THAT much, it's always some LAG kid with bottom pair or a gutshot...

I agree you want these players in the game but it drives me nuts on how someone can think such a bad call is a good call just because they luck out on the river.
