Comp heading to Vegas March 24-29

Ok g2 and his recent success got me thinking and the itch came back. Comped all 5 nights plus my flight is costing me $185. all on points though. Flying out of Pearson 9pm on the 24th and back redeye 11pm on the 29th. No parking cost as my son will drop me off and pick me up.
Two series going on that week that sound interesting Aria PGT PLO series and Horseshoe WSOP Circuit event. No details yet as to what I will participate in. Anyone else there this week?

Still looking for info on the Aria PLO series. ** edit ** ok forget that, smallest buyin is $5k... kinda out of my bankroll...

Seniors will be hard to play with, they bluff better :) However, there is the $400 buy-in event for Seniors. For some reason they don't offer less buyin for seniors.

If I wasn't in transit, I would have played the WSOP Seniors RING Events on March 26 & 28. Seniors Events are definitely much easier <3 compared to playing against young fields with GTO wizards. I will play the Seniors Event at WSOP Hammond on March 10, 2 Seniors at Milly In Philly on March 17 & 22, & the Seniors at WPT Voyage on April 1 at sea.

Well good luck to you there Blondfish. Glad you are not there in Vegas then, you would be just one more tough senior to beat. I'm not sure that the young fields are tougher (other than size). I just play tight earlier then ratchet it up later, just seems to catch them off guard. Works online at least, especially in PLO. One of these times I will join you on one of your suggested playing locations. Just so cheap this time in Vegas. You know, seniors on fixed income syndrome.. B)

Ok, structure sheets are now posted. Thinking monster stack ($600) flight B on Mar 25th, 2 day event (Vig 14.2% S-Points 71), Seniors ($600) on Mar 26, 2 day event (Vig 14.2% S-Points 63) and possibly the Seniors ($400) on Mar 28, 2 day event (Vig 17.5% S-Points 59) .

Seems like pretty good structures for the price... Blondfish approve?

The WSOP Circuit structures for <= $400 tournaments are worse than the festivals I play, while the >= $600 buy-ins are decent. There are so many good festivals in March & April, so I will miss WSOP Toronto :'( as I already pot-committed to WPT Voyage.

Ok I'm 35 min behind you both departing and ariving in Vegas. Coming back I'm departing at 23:55, arrive in Toronto at 7:05

Likely the Monster stack on the 25th and the Seniors on the 28th but I may change as I get closer. I'm not a stud fan although I would have liked just Omaha 8.

Alternatively I may just play leisure cash on the 25th allowing me to adjust to time change somewhat and then play both Seniors on the 26th and 28th.

On my way back this evening. Played both seniors events, 600 an 400 and missed cashing in both, the 600 by about 20 and the 400 by 40. Had a decent run in the 600 but never really got going in the 400. Approx registrations for the 600 was 320 and the 400 was 410 I believe. Did well in cash at both Horseshoe and MGM, not quite my buyins back but close. Unless I have a compelling reason to go back this may have been my last trip. Just too grueling and the cost of food, ridiculous.

I know I didn't do a good job updating this as I went but whatever.. Two biggest (winning) hands of the trip, one tournament and one cash are as follows.

About the 8th level of the 600 seniors on Tuesday I just get moved to a different table utg and find AA , like the OMC I am, I limp. A couple of callers to the SB, She raises I think 3BB, BB, another lady (whom I find out later are local acquaintances) calls. Ok I think, how do I play this? SB has me covered, I have 70K, started at 25K but built it pretty gradually and don't want to risk it by calling giving the other limpers odds to call. 5 ways out of position with Aces is not my idea of fun. Through my mind I'm going over raising to about 10BB and jamming any flip. Then I think even though they don't know me it will be suspect. While I'm thinking these 2 ladies to my right are discussing their dogs totally oblivious to me taking my time. Ok I think after this time a jam might br the best option for the raiser to put me either on scared JJ or perhaps AK. so hoping she has a big pair I slowly slide out my 42BB stack. Folds back to her and she barely thinks before calling off 80% of her stack..I hold to go to over 140K and almost 100BB.

1/2 Cash hand at MGM yesterday after I busted the 400 seniors.
One orbit in, I'm in the BB with JJ and 350 in chips. From my short time there I have seen 4 all ins all ready so I know it's no nit fest. UTG with about 600 raises to 12, 5 callers to me. Now what do I do here, big raise out of position to narrow the field and still play out of position? Nah, I chicken out and call to set mine. Flop is beautiful J high but with 6,4 hearts. I check to original raiser to my left, he makes it 50, folds to cutoff who calls. If I call and a heart or straight card comes, what do I do? I choose the chicken way out and jam.. original raiser thinks and thinks and even though there is another guy still in the hand asks me do you have the flush draw? Me the old nit actually bet a draw? He finally folds and the cutoff calls. I'm thinking he has and under set but no he has 7, 5 one heart for the str8 draw and back door flush draw. Inconsequential runout and I'm up to almost 800 after 1 orbit.. can't imagine his line of reasoning here, perhaps the original raisers comments about me maybe having just a flush draw influenced his reasoning. No idea as he left shortly after. There is still money in no limit live cash games..

Most of my losses in cash were calling modest bets but missing my draws, nothing big at all. Quite easy to stay out of trouble as people were splashing around quite willingly.
