Stampler is basically PLO8 but if there is no low qualifier on the board then the player with that has the highest rank of the suit of the river card wins the low half of the pot.
For example, you are holding AcAs2c3s and the board reads AdKc9d4hTs. Since there is no possible low (i.e. there are not 3 cards 8 or under) the player with the highest spade wins the low half (since the river was the 7s). So you'd win with the As.
It's a fun game for sure.
