compuease Good news, she has found a place at 251 Lester st, like 2 blocks from the uni, looks good to me on google. I assume you guys would think this is a relatively safe area?
kwsteve Yeah, it's fine. Still, you need to use common sense. Don't walk alone at night, etc There was a fairly large drug bust at a house on Columbia St. recently. https://kitchener.ctvnews.ca/11-people-facing-weapons-drug-charges-following-raid-in-waterloo-1.4020984
EdtheTed Great that she got a place close to the university. There are usually lots of students walking around (some, uh, inebriated ...) so I don't think it's bad at night and yes, they do have programs for people to walk with you. Residence is very expensive and I disliked most things about it when I went at U of Alberta many many years ago and it was a bad choice for my son as well more recently. Tell her to avoid the stupid things about frosh week but they do have open houses for all the clubs and you can meet some interesting people who have interests in gaming, geography, travel and many other things. I believe there is also an 'off campus' society which is a social organization for people who do not live in residence. Could be good for her.
