Richard~
basically I don't think i'm beating enough of his bluffs. Also I'm specifically trying to fold out the bottom end of the straight.
I feel like with my turn sizing it can easily be read as a weak protection bet which it mostly is but I feel like I also have more J10 than he does and it's not inconcievable that I'd play those with a weak turn bet either. It's a combination of timing tells from villain that I felt at the time were suspicous, the fact that I wasn't too keen on showing down Q6o for image reasons, because I felt like he could be playing top pair like this because (I feel like some people just kinda wake up with the, I has pair what are you doing? raise) and also because I didn't want to let him valuebet river with his 5x in this spot.
Something that I've been thinking tho is that I may be very exploitable in these spots, I feel like my nut hands are much more often shoving and most times I go for the "hey, it looks like you maybe maybe have fold equity here" I feel like they often do have fold equity.
I'm not saying it's a 100% the perfect play, but I went with what I felt at the time. Also on an unrelated note I'm sitting 1/5 in a titan omaha tourney, 315 euros up top =)
Richard~
I'm playing a bunch of sattelites to both puna ca...carrib...that warm country, as well as Russia for some reason. The idea is that sattelites should make me better at ICM and tighten my ranges up a bit. Now that I have 2600+ dollars on party and 900+ euros on titan I don't even know what my next goal should be so I'm just goofing around with a bunch of 2 dollar sattelites and we'll see if something sticks until I can decide.
I'm not yet sure i'm comfortable moving up to 22 dollar tournaments and facing the regs there since my style has been so heavily exploitative
Richard~
This feels like a major weakness of mine, I'm trucking along, trucking along and then get played back at and just go "fuck it lets gambol"
I'm not sure where to begin looking at the math to make me feel better about folding this part of my range in these spots

Don't love playing my hand that way with AAK5 in a soft game
Richard~
I don't love playing AAK5 out of position at all in a game where they're likely to pressure your whole stack too wide lol.
If I were to pot it pre instead of limping, how would you like to play the 234 two club flop postflop three way? With results in hand I'm 100% sure if we cbet the straight button calls and BB shoves and if we check it goes bet behind us and BB shoves, and this is one of our good flops to hit lol
I'm not really a PLO cash player but what do you dislike about the hand? I'm all for keeping the pot small and trying to use a postflop edge but don't you think it's more profitable just to slam the money in against a wide preflop range if we can leave just under a pot sized bet for the flop?
Richard~
I tried playing a live poker tournament again today. People are weird, early on I opened 108o from the button and got called bu bb, I checked back a 1042 flop and I bet a king on the turn, villain raised my to like 4x, I called river was a queen and he checked and showed Q3o.
Later on I 3 bet AJo from mp and got a call from the button and the original raiser, flop was AQ4 two spades and I bet out around half pot, button called, turn was an offsuit 5 and I bet again like 75% pot, button called.
River was the 6 of spades completing possible flushes, I check villain immediatly overshoved for 1.5x pot and I ended up folding, villain shows J6o randomly and that one did hurt. The double barrel was based on a live read that he looked quite reluctant to call flop, it was clear I was ahead a large %age of the time and I figured that guy from what I had seen wasn't very competent and would most likely keep callign worse
I'm...gonna have to back to my drawing board to adjust to something like that lol. Later I ended up busting flipping KQ v 66

It makes it seem you think it was a bad play to bet turn with top pair strong kicker, why?
Richard~
I don't think AJ is terrible to bet turn for value here, but I like a sizing that puts flushdraws in a tough spot so they can't autofold.
I think we're on the lower side of our value range here, and without a read it's tricky to barrel turn vs villains cold call pre range if he has a head (which he didn't), A10 A9 type hands work better as a bluffcatcher in this spot I think, hoping he'd bluff some draws
Richard~
Challenge time, I need better dicipline so lets do a bankroll challenge. I threw in 100$ onto stars because I wanted to play some more pokerstars tourneys but then decided it would be fun to try an run it up to 2k with proper bankroll management and dicipline. Can I do it? Who knows but I'm feeling inspired and want to try, I'll probably keep challenge days and regular grind days seperate and try to set some rules for myself with regards to stakes, also will try to stream a lot, should be fun, ofc this will be on the side of my studies and dancing so probably not many sessions per week
Edit: I might have to reconsider or at least keep my eyes open with this, for some reason the 2 dollar mtt table I sat down at has two player amongst the top 0.5% on stars and only one semi bad player...this might not be worth it, we'll see
Richard~
this probably occasionally backfires, this time it didn't

3.2 million in the break, this next hour might be our last or at least a crucial one. Lets make a deeper run
Update: 6,9 million in the break 69BB 45 players left. I'm afraid of busting and doing all these hours for "nothing" but I'm trying to stay centered and not worry about results. One hour at the time, next one will be swingy I'm sure. Last hour I 3 bet 7s in a bad spot and got bailed out vs JJ, if I hadn't I'd have been around 2 million rn, if I fuck up again I doubt I'll get another chance
Update2: I ended up 28th, so close

partypoker support is just trolling me now <.<
I decided to play some more sattelites into the tournament I won a package for. I played a quarter final sat and ran up a stack worth 35 dollars that was entered into the next step. This semi final only had my entry and another guy so at best it looked like I could win 60k chips (final has a starting stack of 250k). Tournament was (and still is) paused due to what I'm assuming is a lack of chips in play.
I contacted partypoker support and after about an hour of trying to make her understand sentences she informed me that the tournament was cancelled and my stack would be carried on into the next step of the series meaning the finals. So now they somehow cancelled a tournament so that instead of one 60k stack in the finals we now has a 35k stack and a 25k stack. On top of this I cannot play any more sattelites for a week because if I were to qualify with a bigger stack I just straight up burn 35 dollars of equity in the finals, this makes no sense on so many levels
Edit: Support eventually came through for me and compensated me with 3 semi final tickets, glad it got sorted out
Richard~
