I have to admit, I enjoyed splashing around the 5 Card Omaha, both Hi/Split.
I did however fall victim to a lot of the shitty play outlined in this thead.
By that I mean, I made all the shitty plays.
Dumped what was left of my Online $ playing it, reloaded and dumped that too.
My apologies for not pissing it away to forumers. Add that to the mistakes I made.
Bfillmaff
In my case it followed the same trend.
1. Sit there and wait for the nuts while taking notes on the big pots. Record all "WTF" moments for each player, amass a hilarious collection of spewage that I will brilliantly use to my advantage later.
2. Flop a good, but non-nut, hand against a confirmed maniac who's been shipping it with one pair all facking day... slightly loosen up to adjust and get it in.
3. Get shown the nuts.
4. Blame myself for getting it in with relative garbage and spew some more.
5. Repeat.
I still think there is a ton of money to be made on there as it seems there's enough people dumping their wallets into the pot to make it profitable for even a player like myself... but my tiny bankroll cannot handle the swings. Sticking to live... which of course is exactly what I said LAST time I busto'd my account!

Decided to step it up and play $100 max and promptly dumped 5 buyins getting it in with the nuts and losing to naked flush draw, having flush and watching idiot catch boat etc etc. Then I binked that tourney so back to where I started. :D

Nice to see the 'beats'side of this thread. I was beginning to think you guys were somehow unbeatable at 5 card Omaha.

Long term I believe that smart good players like yourself/Moose and others will definitely beat this game. And should be playing it.
I'm neither good nor rolled to handle the swings.
moose
Sticks it in with 8 outs and hits. It's getting a little bit ridiculous.

Once you went for the check raise on the turn he had to call $17.91 for a pot of $78.75 with 25% equity (8 outs to fill plus 3 4's to chop) which became a profitable call.
You would be better off leading the turn to only offer him 33% and avoid a check back of a drawing hand. Given the hands he likely jams anyway for your remaining $17.91 which is also a good result for you.
The stack to pot ratio was too small for you to check raise the turn with maximum equity (33% offered and he has a 25% chance). You need at least an SPR of 4 on the turn to go for the check raise.
moose
I know, I'm not expecting him to fold.
Not expecting this guy to shove either. Naked fucking AA. Doom switch definitely turned on.

Just to see I ran the poker tools equity calc and your hand is 35% pre vs the AA hand. Change one of those 4 clubs to a heart and it becomes 41%.
If I change your A to a 9 so you have a better rundown with 910JQK with suits it becomes 46.3%.
Interesting example of how the equities change heads up vs AAxxx.
FYI if I run all 3 hands it goes
you 24.9%
AAxxx 49.8%
Q101056 25.3%
That was a harsh run out thou once the flop hit you but by then you had nothing left to get him to fold.
Get back to the run good.
moose
Interesting. I'm shocked his equity was that high.
I would have thought that in 5 card it would be very hard to get that much equity with AA.
