is PokerStars scamming me?

I played on PokerStars recently but got blocked after I won a freeroll tournament to get a $3300 seat at the WPT Canadian open that's going to happen in May. They said have multiple accounts under my name which is true but I haven't used or logged in from these accounts in so long (maybe 3-4 years if not more) I was wondering if anyone knows the rules about that....because I find it unfair that because I don't remember either login or email info that I used to generate an account that they'd block me and take this prize from me. I made multiple deposit with them without them cancelling my account but when I win something big they want to verify my account and find a loophole in the system and take this away from me.

Anyone can tell me if anything can be done legally or if it's a lost cause and just swallow this lost??

The rule is you shouldn't have more than one account on pokerstars under your name. I think the best route is to E-mail pokerstars and tell them you haven't used any of the accounts for years you don't even know the E-mails for these accounts. Also check the FAQ on pokerstars and check the exact rules.

if you lose your hotmail info (and for some reason that bars you from signing into the pokerstars client which makes no sense to me whatsoever), the onus is on you to contact pokerstars and tell them of your situation in hopes that they can help you.

what you don't do is not tell them anything and start a new account which is in direct violation of their terms of service. furthermore, if you happen to lose info on a second account, you do not start a third, fourth, etc. account without first contacting pokerstars and telling them of your situation.

granted, i agree that pokerstars waiting until to attempt to withdraw before saying anything to you is obviously a dick move, but you are still at fault in the matter. pokerstars can't be blamed because you (like the majority of people) didn't read the terms of service when you signed up. believe it or not, those things aren't just written up for fun.[FONT=&quot][/FONT][FONT=&quot][/FONT][FONT=&quot][/FONT]

Because if you want to reset your password you receive an email to reset it...since I don't even remember that email I used or the name I used I create my old account.

You can still work with pokerstars without knowing your old email/username. PS was obviously able to determine your old username.

Multiaccounting is a huge issue online, and you violated the Terms and Conditions.

You may not have done this on purpose, but the security team has to look out for the best interest of all the players on the site, which is to identify individuals with multiple accounts, and disqualify them.

In other words, don't book any flights to Montreal.

Unfortunately for you, the poker sites have one-sided T&C. You can try to appeal to PokerStars' regulator. Sites regularly waive or ignore the strict terms for customers they like (happened to me lots of times when I was a VIP with another site), but it's like signing a bad contract with a door-to-door salesman or timesharing, where your only hope is that there is a good regulator that can help you when things go bad.
