I've talked to Sylvain both at WPT Fallsview & Playground. When Playground refused to accept my $1,000 bill, :confused: I asked Sylvain to buy the bill from me and he did.

He finished 6th in the Fallsview $2500 Event, along with cashing in the $1100 Event (that Mike Leah won) and the FTP Montreal Main Event. I think he told me he lives near Kirkland Lake, but I have not asked for his contact info yet. I can try to find out if you want at my upcoming tourneys.

I found a matching contact on FB and Tessaro is working on it, but yeah, any leads would be great. I forgot about Fallsview, 4 top ten finishes in majors with these size fields should get a bit of spotlight me thinks.

Oh and by the way Blondefish, you should have taken that 1k note across the parking lot to Stardust. When Stars had that event there with Duhamel, noticed several stacks of Canadian 1000s in the prize money on a platter pics....

I wanted to visit Stardust & other poker rooms, but even when my friend and I were not busy playing poker at Playground, there were a lot of people I knew that kept going in or near the PartyPoker Lounge to chat with, including Kara, Angelique, Tugba, Emily, Bennsey, Jessica, Ariyan, Jenny >:D along with Mike Sexton & my favourite Bond, Tony Dunst. The reincarnation of Stardust to Platinum Poker Club in time for WPT CSC was postponed.

As for Sylvain, the action revolves around him, especially in cash games. Xuan Liu mentioned this during the last WPT NAPC back in 2008 and this happened again after the announcement of the return of the WPT in December, when I started seeing Sylvain at Fallsview. In a $1,050 satellite, I remember raising all-in against him and he made the wrong call with a bad hand, saying "Let's gamble," but since live poker is rigged, :bs: you all know whose hand won. He has a high-variance fearless style so when he gets lucky, he can be the chipleader. A math geek like me knows he could have much higher winnings if he learns how to make ICM adjuments in SNG or final table situations instead of putting in all the chips way behind.

Note to self: Instead of a $1K bill, try to swap with him at future tournaments so I can try to help him at final table like I did with the last WPT NAPC champion at final table.

These $1K notes are nicknamed "pinkies" because of their pinkish-purple ink. They are the highest denomination legal tender in the Western world. They were used a lot in criminal transactions so the government retired them in 2000 and if you deposit it in a bank, it will be destroyed.

I was short a few dollars for a SNG (+ side bet) at Playground so I handed the pinky to the dealer. Another employee took off with it, and since chip runners or money changers are unheard of in Ontario casinos, :confused: I initially thought I would lose the $1K! The supervisor returned from the cashier area & informed me that Playground doesn't accept pinkies. A friend at Playground is a currency collector and wanted to buy it, but later said that I should have kept it in pristine condition instead of leaving it in my wallet. As soon as I saw Sylvain in the high stakes cash game table, I knew somebody there will snap up the pinky.

While I understand that drug dealers were more likely to use pinkies in the previous millennium, nowadays, the average person would want the option of a $1K note. Whenever a poker player wins a live tournament or high stakes cash game, we would prefer to get pinkies instead of the First World "problem" of not being able to close your wallet.

Someone once told me the going rate for these $1,000 bills is around $1,200 as they are very rare and highly collectable. Hope you didn't sell it at cost?

Only a few mint $1,000 and $2 bills are worth more than $1K. Neither the currency collector nor Playground would accept the pinkie, so I searched for a pokerJAH high roller at Playground and that's when I saw Sylvain.
