Just want to chime in and say, Buddy you can't really do this when you're backed like this. I know you had your reasons for not playing the mtts, but you still played the super sats. As bad as I hate fallsview too, the tournaments as run, were still pretty smooth.

Whatever, I don't really care. This is just one messed up BAP.

He never deposited anyones EMT and said that he would just cancel them as there is a small profit. (we have to cancel the EMT ourselves)

Buddy in future BAPs just BAP what you intend to play, NOT what you have the potential to play.

I totally understand why he didn't play the 2.5k event. If you are burnt out, you don't want to play and you are not going to play well.

Don't know why he didn't play the 5k?

There are several ways to adjust a BAP if the total buy-ins ends up different, but I chose the one that multiplies the shares to reward the eight investors for having enough faith to pay for a flexible BAP where I would try to choose the most +EV options. I was crazy busy during the Family Day weekend juggling between family and poker, so I clearly asked for a flexible BAP before asking to send any payment. Just like I pay for meals of forumers after a winning session, I was good with giving a "free lunch" in this BAP.

In a badly-managed casino with a bad TD and Casino Shift Manager, women can keep you from going crazy at the Fallsview sausage fest. After "THE TD INCIDENT" which made me check out of my hotel early and out of Events #2 & 3, I went into the tournament area one last time before driving out of this terrible casino, but then I saw the oasis in the Fallsview desert: Royal Flush Girl Tugba Ercan and Xuan Liu. I have put this and other photos in my Facebook ""WPT FPC" album while I'm working on the trip report.

Blondefish was more than reasonable on the payout, as I believe he did an adjusted payout than what others calculated.

I certainly would have invested in this as well, even if I had known it was only going to be the 2 supers and the 1100.

I think Buddy thought he was being clear about intentions in the OP, but I don't think it was clear to anyone but him.

I also had assumed he'd be playing all events, so I was also a little disappointed.

In the end, I think we actually got a better EV spot here with a 13 markup for these events, and skipping the more difficult (in theory) 2.5k and 5k.

I probly would have spent more with Ash and Steve had I known, but hey, that saved me money:)

It's much better for SteveKerr to have contacted me first directly to resolve this relatively tiny amount as he was the one I communicated with the most at Fallsview from Wednesday until early Sunday morning, but Popkorn is correct. Since nobody as far as I know cashed in any of my swaps, then there is no money involved there. He paid the smallest amount since he was interested in BAP of my $1100 Event #1 ONLY, NOT the Event #2, #3 or anything else, so technically, he should get nothing since I did not cash in the $1100 Event.

However, I'm more than willing to give him a piece of my super satellite win, at a higher profit than what Popkorn, pokerJAH, DataMn, etc. have calculated. If that is not enough, he can phone me on what he wants. I'll pay at Sundowners, GBH or wherever I see him next.

Now that I have cashed out my entire front money account from that bad casino, I feel re-energized. I played my first online tournament in months and won first place, including an entry to a special event at Playground Poker Club next month. The juicy Casino Rama tournaments, where I have already been dealt big-time excitement TWICE, are back next Monday.

I have already bought in for the $550 GBH Winter Classic next week with 15,000 starting chips. Get ready for a new "King of the Cards", GBH! :fish:

Everyone stood by rep, involved or not. We need to discuss these situations to know how to resolve future ones and decide what's acceptable. If this had been a newb or smart ass member, same attitude?

Little nasty don't you think? After all we are all (mostly) friends here and mostly just bapping for the fun of it.. There is not enough volume to really make money at it at our level.

Around here we are used to having people tell their story (trip report et al) publically so all can enjoy, not just bappers. I think that may be getting you a little resentment in your case... Others please correct me if I'm wrong on this.. I have been wrong before..???

Also I know we have a couple of Tom's on here, maybe a Richard or two but I'm not aware of any Harry's..;)

I was a bit disappointed you didn't play the 2.5k/5k events. Obviously I thought your BAP was good value (I don't participate in BAPs very often) and was hoping to have a sweat for a big cash. I do think it is a bit misleading when someone puts up a BAP for 4-5 tournaments and then ends up playing only 2-3 of them. When the variance is spread out over more tournaments, I'm willing to accept more of a premium as well as invest more. I've been guilty of this before too and I know I upset some of my investors when I was too hungover to play a tournament and lost them value.

That being said, I hate complaining since you made us all a profit and are paying out fairly generously (according to the posters in this thread.. I haven't actually looked at the numbers myself). You can likely roll my profit on to the next BAP. Looking forward to the TR.

On a separate note, I have no issue with people grinding satellites to build their bankrolls. I don't think there's any obligation for someone to play a won seat (assuming there's no equity component or whatever). I did it myself when I started out and many big name pros did it when they were starting out as well. $2k might not be a lot for some but, for others, it could be pretty significant especially if you're working with a limited bankroll or in school or whatever. I do think Buddy's situation is a lot different from Sn1per's which is why I'm more disappointed in his decision not to play the bigger events.

Hell, I wouldn't have a Twitter account except for BAPs.

Never met Buddy, and did not try to participate in this BAP for that reason, though I suspect he might have taken my $$$ based on my standing here on this Forum. I have always found his posts interesting and informative. He DEFINITELY has a unique way of breaking things down viz. bankroll implications and, while some may find it odd, I find the single mindedness of it to be very appealing. I do not think anyone on this Forum could accuse him of anything "shady", and there are certainly enough of us that would speak up (we're a mouthy lot). Buddy, I would not take the stuff posted here to heart . . . after all, we're poker players. That means we're used to trying to justify our positions with sometimes ridiculous reasoning. Congrats on the profit, which is all that really matters to an investor. Like Fast Eddie said,

Just to reiterate, Buddy may be a little "quirky", as many of us here are, but he's our Buddy, and nobody from outside the "inner" circle can say anything bad about him around here...

Buddy, I've always known you as a really nice honest guy over all these years, and by no means was I trying to hurt your credibility in anyway. I just thought I would've been informative to discuss this situation since it was a fairly unique one.

When it comes to BAP, staking, BBJ splitting in poker, I'm always very clear as to what %'s and what the deal is. Because of the money involved. I mean a lot of people are very happy with you because u made them money (completely results oriented). What if you had not cashed in the satellites and opted not to play the other events? How do you think everyone would've felt. That's all I wanted to discuss.

Like I said I've never seen any slime ball or shady move from you ever, so hopefully no one thinks of you that way. So guys, Blondefish is a good guy!

Since we both worked for IBM, we both know the silliness of putting personal information on the World Wide Webz that are much better left at more private communication to specific people. The trip reports to those who invested in me includes full names, my thought process of maximizing my EV at the satellites and five tournaments, & other private thoughts of the craziness that went on at Fallsview from December to February. For example, it includes the name of the manager who needs to be replaced before the WPT returns. :rage:

While I can be very candid with you or other friend if you phone me, I would NOT want what I reveal to be posted on the WWW where people that had no interest in the thread will suddenly start piping in with their 1¢.

Here is hoping that there are some improvements made again. As far as I know this was their best turnout yet (have to check 5k against year Charette won) and I know they are aware of player and media complaints. I didn't think the extra day on each event brought much to the table when it all played out, but Savage and others will also notice this, the scalping complaints etc and hopefully advocate heavily for improvements.
