Pokerstars Mobile-Real Money??

Just wondering if you can play for real money on the pokerstars iPhone app?? I thought I read somewhere that it was play money only but It appears you can play for real as well..Not sure if I downloaded a scam app or if it's the real deal?? I entered my wrong passwords/pins on purpose and it wouldn't let me login, I always do this to make sure it's the real thing..

Just wondering if anyone can confirm that you can play for real money on the app..

Its such a nice app, had it for maybe 6 months now, I usually play .25/.50 PLO zoom as i wait for my name to be called at live pokers.

Works just as well as their pc pokerstars client, minus the ability to 12 table lol. I usually just stick to 1 or 2 tables on the app, i think you can do at least 4 though.

I been playing on poker stars through my iPad, it's great app, and it's real. I sometime connect my iPad to my iPhone to use my cell data and play while I am outside (ex waiting at falls, work)

I am gold star in just 5 days. Going for platinum, I play 2-4 or 3-6 limit, so lot more hands.

Since I plan to steal it from her when she's not using it for school, >:D which is better for poker apps such as PartyPoker and PokerStars - iPad Air or iPad Mini with Retina Display? Is the $100 price difference mainly because of the 9.7" vs. 7.9" display?

Just a thought to consider - (at the risk of starting a tablet debate)

The newest (8.1) windows tablets are fantastic. I can multi table with the full PS client - and even run PT4 for a full HUD - all directly from my tablet. I can also snap a keyboard onto it for a full pc experience, for literally the best of both worlds, cause i can run android apps on it too!

BF - to answer your original question though, both are almost identical in terms of usability, really just comes down to screen size - i would hit a best buy and play around a bit with both, and just go with whats more comfortable - some people prefer the smaller size in which case the $100 savings is icing on the cake.

I personally prefer a laptop, or Android over Apple, but the school uses iPads so I have to join the Apple lemmings. Instead of going to Fallsview tonight, we went to an Apple store and looked at the iPad 2 for $399.

But for only $20 more, I can get iPad Mini with Retina Display and Siri. For "only" $100 more, I get 1.8" bigger screen with the iPad Air. For only $130 more, I can get cellular for $5+/month so I can steal my kid's Air and play online poker anywhere. I can double the 16GB storage to 32GB for only $100 more.

Lmfao "for only $1000".... To be honest I would recommend the iPad mini with retina, I have one myself and it is great to use for pokerstars.

I use to be a huge android > apple person but lately I have been going with the apple products. I recently got the mini with retina and just picked up an iphone 5s as well.

Agreed, I can buy a Acer 15.6" Intel 4GB notebook for only $175 that is better than a $1,000 iPad Air 9.7". Unfortunately, the school has chosen to go with iPads and recommended that I buy an iPad for my child, so I'll get to have an expensive toy to play with after school. The school will give up me a list of 40 apps to buy, and I have already purchased the Notability app.

Here's what I'm planning to buy:
- $849 iPad Air 64GB with Cellular
- Bell's 4G LTE Nano SIM card and a 30-Day Pass, along with Bell's many &^%$#@! fees.
- ZAGGkeys Folio with Backlit Keyboard for $99
- I was thinking of buying it from Apple.ca for the engraving, but I have a Staples 10% off coupon so I'll use that instead.

Just got one of these myself. Have you looked at Telus' flex plan? No annoying fees. Won't have to keep purchasing pay per use cards and no wasted minutes at the end of the month. $5/month + whatever amt of data you use. Telus $20=1g/ Bell $20=500mb. If you bring your own device - no contract. Hubby just got same sim card for his new phone for $10 or $15 + NO activation fee.

Thanks for the info. My daughter & I have been visiting Apple stores, including an upcoming "Discover Your iPad" hour-long workshop, but had been ignoring all the cellular stores we pass by.

Rogers offers three months of unlimited data ($5/month + $15 connection fee) so maybe I'll start with this no-term plan. Bell and Rogers seems to have the advantage of having a lot of free wifi hotspots that could minimize my cellular use. Is it easy enough to uninstall a Rogers LTE Nano SIM card and install a SIM card from another carrier later? Has anybody used their iPad Air to create a local hotspot for other devices, e.g., we can all play online poker while waiting in a casino?

You have to get it unlocked. (I am assuming its the same as a phone) Telus will do it after 90 days for $35. Bell - 90 days/$50. Rogers - 90 days/$50. Beware-Rogers website specifies that will only unlock devices bought directly from Rogers. (thought new CRTC laws made this illegal?) Bell and Telus will unlock devices not bought from them.

Has anybody used their iPad Air to create a local hotspot for other devices, e.g., we can all play online poker while waiting in a casino?

I use the hotspot on my iphone and it works great!

Ended up changing my cell phone plan. I got a better plan plus more data for less than I was already paying. Bought the ipad w/out cellular and I run it from the hotspot on my phone when not at home/no wireless signal.

I went to five different so-called "professional" salespeople and I wish they knew as much as Gottaget and me! :rolleyes: After a lot of "I don't know", "I just started" or worse, being given wrong information or the more expensive option, I still don't know which carrier to go with. I'll just wait until the Apple workshop and get objective advice on which cellular plan to choose for the 32GB iPad. Has any Apple user here found 32GB to be too low for their needs?

From what I understand with the phones is that once you put in a sim card your phone becomes locked to that carrier. Even if the phone was previously unlocked. The sim card apparently puts software on the phone to make it compatible with their network (telus, rogers ect.)

I am far from a tech expert and found the "experts" as clueless as you. I lurked in some techie forums to get this info. I was researching specifically for phones, but I assume that a sim card in any device will need to "lock" to the network to get a signal. Hopefully they can give you a concrete answer at the apple workshop.

Dont quote me on this but pretty sure that last part is incorrect. An unlocked phone/tablet will stay unlocked, inserting a sim will not lock the device. So long as you buy an unlocked one, yes you can swap freely between any carrier that supports the device.

Locking devices started as carriers began offering big discounts on phone msrp's, the locking isnt related to allowing the phone to work on a certain network, it is simply to prevent getting a free phone on carrier A, canceling, and taking it with you to carrier B.
