Below is an email I have circulated to all of our server based clients this evening. In the interests of time after a long day I am just copy and pasting it without rewrite.. Note that we believe it will not only affect server clients but anyone who encounters it. This is real and not a hoax. Read the attached link for more info, it's pretty accurate and matches what we know.

We have just encountered this "network aware" virus today at one of our clients and it can be a real nasty. About 7 hours later and we are just finished restoring their data and getting them back in operation. One of our guys, Chris, put this together while working remotely with the onsite guy Brian. Please reiterate with all your staff the importance of “safe” surfing and staying away from social networking sites or opening suspicious emails while at work.. The risk is just too great especially if you are not sure of the danger signs.
Here is a link to a pretty good description of the infection, please read it and be aware!

I would really like to thank Brian especially who took the brunt of this situation as well as Chris and Ray who provided the support from our Miltown office. Also thanks to Jacob, our “new” guy who accompanied and assisted Brian. This was his very first service call with Miltown and boy did he pick a tough one to cut his teeth on.
All of us are making our server based clients aware of this new situation. If you have any concerns or wish more info on additional steps you can take, let one of us know. As always, stay safe and feel free to pass this on to any of your suppliers or clients who may be affected. We would be glad to help anyone if they get into this situation or to perhaps prevent it.
