A bunch of funny guys! I am in my forties and have been playing poker over 16 years.. A few weeks ago I got second at a Brantford tournament with a $120 buy in and 100 players. I want to play locally ..... come on guys... help me find some men who think cute means dumb and lets play,,

you might actually be a little surprised to find out just how few local games there are advertised here. It may seem like the forum isn't being cooperative towards you, that the games are being kept a secret but the truth is, there just isn't as many home games as you were thinking there would be.

If someone here is holding a game, they will advertise and post a sign up sheet. Sometimes new forum members might need a referral but that will also be stated. I can tell you that Mississauga/Oakville/Burlington/Hamilton are virtually card dead around this forum. Rarely does someone from those towns post that they are holding a game.

Again, I am speaking of the home game scene, I am ignorant about underground clubs

The home games have dwindled somewhat, as most of the sharks are now heading to Woodbine. Not sure about Brampton cash games, but theChing Hill League will be well worth your effort to come north, should our genial host ever decide to re-boot it. As you seem to be near Square One, you could do worse than making the trek to woodbine to feed your fix until you can find a home game that suits you. If the stakes are what is putting you off, you might look at it as an investment as many of the Forum members that play there could probably point you in the right direction viz. home game play.

Oh, and as stated previously, it is not from a lack of friendliness that you are coming up empty, it is more to do with a lack of games at present. That may change come the fall, as summer seems to see a general hiatus in action . . . people having lives and all. What is bringing you to my little corner of paradise, today? Farmer's Market? South Asian cuisine?

What about trying the Orangeville Poker Tour or irunit4times' home games? I am planning to play in both myself.

I know a lot of the people who are running illegal cash games, but I haven't bothered to go after I restarted playing live because the legal games at Woodbine, Fallsview, etc. are more than good enough. I was invited to that Brampton game when the murder occurred, so I know that it is highly negative life EV to go to illegal games, especially if you are a cute lady and there are +EV legal options anyway. There is a middle-aged lady at Fallsview who takes a bus or ride every weekend, and I always see her racking away several thousand dollars, probably because the men misplay against her!

This is about 5 minutes from my place, and there is nothing local. There used to be a 1/2 game on Kariya in one of the condos, but its gone.

I think theres a 2/5 around burnhamthorpe and mavis, but i dont think its advertised anywhere.

If you will go to Brantford, you can come to Cambridge. I have a game every two weeks. Will be posting the next game when I get back from Vegas!

Thank you for all of the good feedback. I personally prefer Niagara to Fallsview. and oh about the Famers market.. oh yes that's right I make banana muffins by day and kick butt at poker by night...ha.. no I retired early and play poker for the sheer joy of watching people count outs and try to read me..... to be read means you have a strategy ... I just love the game ..

When I first moved to Mississauga around 8 years ago there were several underground clubs running cash games (mostly 1/2 NL) and tournaments. After a few sweeps of raids over the years, there aren't many running around here that I'm aware of so I have to go to KW, Brantford, Woodbine, Toronto and Niagara for games. It's definitely a pain in the ass.

ok.. well I am not a "poker raid" kinda lady so I'll stick with the legit games... thanks for your help
