I have to admit that I never had heard one song from them despite growing up in the GTA in the 80s and listening mostly to rock music.

The second one wasn't too bad either, and I consider it a nice sequel to the first. The THIRD one though just sucked

Oh fuck...I dated a psycho girl (well, "dated") in my first year at McGill and the ONLY album she ever listened to was Cat Out Of Hell.

Personally, I wouldn't say either of the above stands the test of time, but maybe it has to do a bit with how they tend to be overplayed.

I actually just started to re-listen to Rush again in the last couple years. Think their music is a lot different than Triumph, which is more vocal and less instrumental than Rush. Triumph has the odd guitar solo, but nothing like 2112 or A Farewell to Kings. Both great Canadian rock bands.

agreed re: Paranoid.

I'm not sure that guitar solos contribute to standing the test of time?

For me, 1984 has lost it's appeal.

The only song by Van Halen that I really still enjoy is Unchained...again, maybe due to everything being overplayed.

Zeppelin holds up even with hearing a Zeppelin song every 40 minutes for eternity on Q107.

I rarely hear any Supertramp anymore but I would have to agree.

The Final Cut? THE FINAL CUT ?!? Having actually wasted real money on that piece of navel gazing, woe is me drivel, I feel confident in stating that Final cut doesn't even rate in Floyd's top 5, which would be in no particular order:
Dark Side of the Moon (which makes the list)
Wish You Were Here (ditto)
Animals
The Wall
Division Bells

Well, that's your opinion. Pink Floyd fans didn't like it at the time because it signaled the end of the band. But it's an excellent album. When it came out Rolling Stone magazine called it a masterpiece.

I bought it, played it put it back in the milk crate. Played side A for my older brother, and he was not even interested in side B. A lot of my friends like Floyd. None of them like Final Cut. But okay, Rolling Stone knows best, I guess . . .

Just did a quick google search for "top-5 Pink Floyd albums" . . .

Page 1 had Final Cut listed 3 times: 1 second, 1 fourth, and 1 fifth. I think I'll stand by my assessment.

I like the part...

Where Milo says he actually googled and found sites saying the album was top 5 three times, yet "a LOT of Floyd fans" don't like it, an backs it up with his friends and his brother.
