Casino Rama deep stack

Rama is back with a trny series, running every second Monday. $300 (don't know exact breakdown) 10k chips, 25 min levels, capped at 60 entries.

Anyone playing in any of these? I just satted into one from a local home game and will be there this Monday.

Anybody interested in carpooling on Monday morning? While I'm used to driving to the Georgian Downs or Brantford tournaments, Rama would be almost four hours of driving round-trip for me.

I phoned Rama, and unlike Brantford where I can buy my entry over the phone with no fees - like for this Thursday's Deep Stack - Rama/Ticketmaster adds extra charges.

I was planning to be at Rama Monday but it's not a 100% sure thing. Would be interested in meeting up for a beer if it does work out.:)

I played this 2 weeks ago which was the first of 8 I believe, running the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month.

MUCH better now with the 10k starting stack and still 25min blinds.

Unfortunately was card dead and don't have much positive to say about the game but plenty of fish completely donating entire stacks in the first few levels had me salivating.

I've tried to attach a quick pic I took of the blinds while I was sitting in seat 10 and trying to upload from my phone for first time so not sure how it will turn out.

I purchased my tic off ticketmaster myself last time and have done the same again this time, yes it blows to pay additional service fees ($11.50) but it's the only way to guarantee a spot without making a separate trip... last time it sold out (60) the morning-of but will definitely sell out sooner as word spreads about the increased starting stack ...also a nice luxury to show-up 15min before gametime, get tic from box office and start the action right away.

I'd be interested in carpooling on Monday...what time does it start? Never played in one of these...how does structure compare to Brantford Deepstacks?

..Ooops.. just noticed Brantford's satelite is this Monday..I may opt to play in that instead..

Ticketmaster charges a $7.75 service fee, then just before final checkout, it rips you off for another $3 as a "processing fee." :rolleyes: The fees of TicketScalper are almost as much as the Casino Rama tournament fee itself so the total "rake" almost doubles! Unlike Brantford where I bought my Deep Stack seat by phone without fees and can find out how many seats have been bought, TicketScalper refuses to tell you how many seats are left for the tournament. :rage:

I wished Rama had told me about the improved structure when I phoned them earlier this month or updated their website, so I could have bought my seat at Rama after the Tournament of Champions event at Georgian Downs last Sunday.

I looked at their website before and couldn't find anything regarding this series, looked again today and noticed it is now posted, blind schedule, rules and reg, starting stack etc.

The rake seems pretty good also, ( if bought in person) at 285 + 15. Very reasonable if you ask me, even with ticketmaster it's still just under 10%, not bad for a live event

That was because I kept reminding them to update their website! They contacted me yesterday that they just updated the information so props to Rama.

I'm planning to take this route: QEW - Highway 427 N - 84 long km along Highway 400 N - Hwy 11 N.
If Rama finally has a decent tournament like OLG Slots/Brantford, I will keep buying for the next bimonthly date, so it would make sense to take turns carpooling. Whoever is eliminated first can play in the cash game, eat, take a nap in the car, etc.

I always try to have a "Plan B". If I'm out early at Rama, I can still play at Brantford by 7 PM. When pkrfce9 & I go to Georgian Downs and in the event that the scheduled Deep Stack or MTT does not run, our "Plan B" is to play cash games at Woodbine.

Since I made money from both the Brantford Deep Stack and Fallsview overnight, I went ahead and ordered my entry including the $11.50 in TicketScalper charges. I also updated the Rama information in my Tournament Guide.

Played today. While the structure is much improved there are still some glaring gaps.

Not much to report on the poker front, got river checkraised in a multiway pot for a good portion of my stack and had to sigh fold.

Eventually stuck it in on the puck with 7bb and J7 suited and didnt get there.

Noticed they were still working on the new pub which is right there by the poker room so might be a good place to meet up for a drink next tournament.

You had the playground hat on?

Yes, we were at the same table. I was in seat 5 with the seahawks sweater.
