Is there any way to make the late entry longer?

I got in about 11 minutes after the game started, and thus was locked out. My entry would have made it a medal tourney.

Absolutely, you could register right now for next Sunday's game if you wanted. I'm guessing some don't register early as they aren't sure how their plans are going to pan out for the day and don't want to get blinded down to a short stack if they're running too late.
