I say one third of the time he has pocket 2"s to 6"s. one third 8"s to AA. One third two overs where you would be racing. So considering your stack size I'd let it go. You tried with a re raise and learnt what you need to know. What did you do?

if that's your range, then it's a pretty light 4bet by the villain comprising 30% of the deck.

Without reads, as played, I'd fold.

I'd normally flat here readless. If I were to 3 bet, I'd do it smaller, like 8100-ish.

Do you have any stats/reads on villain?

I still like a flat call being 30bb effective...we wouldn't only be setmining w/ 77, there are some good flops that we will continue/make moves on with 77 here. I really don't like 3b in this spot vs a utg+1 (i think) open at a ft.

If youre folding to a 4bet here than I would hope you do this with near ATC as you're turning your hand into a bluff always.

Since we dont want to turn a value hand like 77 into a bluff, then we should be flatting here.

6 handed though, I think I prefer the 3bet. Whether I call or not would be read dep, but most likely fold.

This is very important and can't be understated...and you see it all the time in the lower buyins, a guy will 3bet and then tank forever when facing a 4bet..

Always know what your plan is before you 3bet ie "Okay i'm 3b/folding here" or "I'm gonna 3b/5b all in here" etc

Do we all agree though that if we 3b/fold here than our 3b range is not limited to 55+, KQ+ or near that.

I am trying to get away from the results of a particular play and get opinions on what other think is the correct play. This was a tricky spot for me, created by my 3-bet, at a final table and I just want to hear what other players would do in the same spot.

I like a 3b here as a bluff pre, and obv wetts is right saying we should be doing it pretty close to ATC....so if your 3b bluffing 77 pre here....your 3b% at this FT with your stack better be double digits. Otherwise flat.

There are circumstances where i 3b call here too, just player dependent. I have notes on players I'm 3b calling against of course.

Also jules its always easy to have a plan. But sometimes its ok to step back and call an audible.

I think is a key point here which most of us rarely do... I am going to concentrate on adding this in at notable times... Stop, think it through, and make the play most advantageous with the new info. We do it in real life, why not at the poker table..
