my first sunday million

since it will be half price this weekend, i figured i'd make an attempt to satellite in for once (it's normally out of my bankroll range).

looking through the SNG satellites i noticed some hyper shootouts for around $4 (36 runners, top 4 pay, 1st wins ticket). i've been playing the 6 man hypers lately so i thought what the heck.

played only two. first one i came in 4th and won my buy-in back. second one i took it down!

The main thing I noticed was the play was not much better than it is in an $11 tourney. As Hobbes said, you can wait for premium hands just bet them for value when you do hit.

Because of the slow structure, you will play a long time with the same players. Take a lot of notes on their tendencies.

if you know how to play hypers, they are very soft.

just for fun i decided to throw in the sunday million blind structure into my patience factor calculator. world's most patient player = almost 4 hours! (for those of you who don't know what i'm talking about, that means if you don't play a single hand it'll take you almost 4 hours to blind out).

how long do these normally run?

i'm also curious as to what might be the turn out? i'm assuming there's generally less entries due to the WSOP, but this week there might be more than average due to the half price buy-in. what do you guys think?

with it being half price id probably say about 20k in players, maybe more
